Amazing! The banks - through financial malpractice - bring the world's financial system to the very edge of bankruptcy, causing massive layoffs throughout every segment of the economy.
The banks (Bank of America / Countrywide -$45B) receive a massive bailout of tax payer funds to prevent their foreclosure. The bailed out banks (in part) use the funds to staff their call centers, whose very job is to call the now unemployed about our late payments! Who is going to give the homeowner a bailout? Why is there a reprieve for the banks, but no mercy for the American taxpaying homeowner - who made payments ON TIME for 10 years - but now is out of work? Time for a second-American Revolution! This is blatantly unfair! Let's start a class-suit against Bank of America, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, etc...- all receiving our tax money. They must now extend a grace period to the homeowner who is looking for work! |

The reason so many people who are posting are not from Ct. is because they are just as affected by Dodd's actions and leadership(?) as Ct. residents are. He is a big reason the country is suffering from the financial crisis it is in!

I was almost following along with your assertion until I saw where YOU get YOUR news sources from! LOL! Oh, the hypocrasy! The Huffiongton Post is perhaps the most "National Enquirer" type liberal "news" source on the web! You start off by saying how phony this story is how it is the product of political bais and THEN you post a link to HuffPo as an example of where you can get "real" news from??? The way you described journalists in your first paragraph is exactly how I see the HuffPo! BWaaahaahahahaahhaaaaaaaaa.... ......breaths for a minute].....BWahahhahhahhahhah haaha |

Keep hammering him, Kevin. Every time I see this phony out there talking about how indignant he is at the bank executives' salaries and bonuses, I want to throw up. He is a hypocrite of the worst order. Given that you have legislative experience and name recognition and, obviously, a sizable following of us who respect you, would you please consider challenging Dodd? Only a credible candidate like you would be able to knock him off.

So what did this "handful of reporters" actually report on? Nothing! This is a non-story. True, Dodd handled it wrong, but let's face it people, there is no story here. No crime committed. It's interesting how the Courant tries to crucify Senator Dodd and keep this kind of venomous rumor mongering going. Hey journalists - why don't you actually do your job once and for all and report on the story? If he is guilty of something then by all means expose it and produce some real evidence instead of inflammatory conjecture and reactions from angry "conservatives" who know absolutely nothing about the issue except for rumor and speculation. I truly fear for the direction of journalism in this country. Everyone has an opinion, but it seems no one has any real knowledge. And to all of you people whining about his handling of the "crisis" - would any one of you release your detailed mortgage information to a bunch of journalists? Hell no. If there is evidence of wrong doing then go through the proper channels and get a subpoena and prosecute the guy. This is just a tactic to effect the election in 2010. Period. Very sad.

The reason why so many people are posting, so many people are bothered by this, is because they want change. Our President promised it and everyone is looking for leadership that will bring us there. So we turn to Dodd and we see someone who is out for himself, who chooses to use the system fir HIS benefit, not ours. Is this part of the Presidents plan or is this what he wants changed. I don't know because I haven't heard anything about it from him. |

Judged: 1 "I truly fear for the direction of journalism in this country. Everyone has an opinion, but it seems no one has any real knowledge." You mean the mainstream media that let the President float through this last campaign without a single substantive question? All to avoid any accusations and fear of the "r" word. "And to all of you people whining about his handling of the "crisis" - would any one of you release your detailed mortgage information to a bunch of journalists?" He's a Senator, his PR people make release daily. If I was a Senator AND had nothing to hide I would release them in a second. That is unless I have something to hide, then I would look toward my PR people to release a very sanitized press release, just as they did. |

Judged: 1 1 1 The finanical meltdown is caused by Free Trade and shipping jobs abroad. Somehow, the people believed that they could buy cheap goods from China forever, and not have the money to pay earned by working. The pary is over. Chris Dodd was one of the greatest globalists ever. He voted for NAFTA, has voted for every bill that permits more immigration into the United States and took thousands of banking dollars to run his crazy Presidential campaigns. In my view, Dodd will not run in 2010. The reason he took the slush fund mortgage is that he got married and wanted a big house. Up to then, Dodd had always been a careful politician. At this point, Dodd will probably not run, but move to Washington and make $500,000 as a corporate lobbyist with access to the Senate, as a prior Senator. His replacement will be Richard Blumenthal, who has just become the defender of illegals taking American jobs. He will vote the same on Free Trade to take corporate money. And he will probably win. I am delighted to see the the curtain being drawn back to expose the rats,(Dodd & Frank), and roaches,(Pelosi and Reid). Especially Chris Dodd. This guy is nothing but a thug politician.
No, he wasn't asleep at the wheel when the mortgage meltdown occurred, he was totally involved. Hopefully, more information, such as his properties in Ireland, illegal mortgage loans, pardon-tampering, etc., will come to the fore and this thug politician will be booted from office. I never dreamed that I, a Florida resident, would ever be contributing financially to a Connecticut senate race. But when one considers what this thug does affects the entire United States, it is a small price to pay. Good for you, Connecticut! Come see us! Jack Reacher Pensacola, FL |
