will cost a lot less to the government if they pay the banks all the money we owe.
from credict cards to home loans.
That will be for a fresh new start.

Would have been better if the 'bail-out' had been given directly TO the taxpayers so we all could ride out the storm of millions of job layoffs, mismanaged and criminal Wall St deals...but NO. The govt has to continue lining the pockets of their political financiers you know. Can't have CEOs giving up million dollar bonuses or junkets!! That would be just plain mean!

They've lived high off the hog for decades on the backs of the middle class. Those of us who actually DID all the work. Do you really think they're going to give all of the perks up for us serfs??

Their version for a loan modification for us was a HIGHER monthly mortgage payment, and we're not even behind on payments, have a FIXED rate loan and we are underwater on the place too!! Then they said they could save us what amounted to a whopping $50 per month. Like THAT'S going to help. Due to a huge job loss (after 20 plus years with the same company!!)and attempting to find suitable employment for TWO years (there is NONE), all the while working 2-3-4 jobs, and barely squeaking by, we're gonna try and sell and hope we break even. We've had enough of Countrywide's, now BOA, GAMES. We even suggested they slash our monthly payments for a year adding whatever balance to the end, like an extra year on the mortgage or something, no deal.

They don't want to help anyone and will keep shuffling people around until they give up, like us. They want the TARP money, AND your property. And Cingress sits on their hands and does nothing to rein these banksters in.

Dealing with Countrywide ?? Well, I used to say that...Now I say, Countrywide is dealing with me !! They refused my payment about 13 months ago, I called them...did the usual routine that everyone is doing. Was referred to the "Work Out" Department..(Make believe department)..They said we'd hear from them in a few weeks & to keep checking back with them. So, we have...& Now, going on 15 months we're still in our home...& still waiting !! An Insurance appraiser came out & determined that we were not doing enough upkeep on the 300 thousand Home...That I built !! So, we dropped the insurance. Then we put everything of value in storage. We've kept the basics in the home, incase something happens.... Now, in forclosure, with a sale date within a month...this house could burn down !!..Look at it this way...if they're not going to work with us..then at least they are going to have to DEAL WITH US !!!!! See you in Court Countrywide !! I'm 60 years old, I've had a good life, my kids are grown & on their own...COUNTRYWIDE KISS MY ASS !! yOUR NOT GETTING THIS HOUSE !! YOU MIGHT GET A VACANT LOT !! BUT NOT THIS HOUSE!!

I agree with Rambo. I also have been dealing with Country Wide and they have refused to let me make any payments in the last 10 months. I too have been in this so called "work out" plan 3 times since December and each time was turned down and no one could explain why. I am going through a divorce and my attorney called (after I had to give her written permission) and they told her it was because I didn't make enough money. I thought that was the point of the President's plan! If we were struggling they were going to help! I have three kids living with me. Now what I am suppose to do?! Countrywide sucks!!!! I'm with you Rambo! They will not take my home without a fight!!!!
