Everyday I hear in the news of banks helping borrowers. Either lowering their rate, extending their mortgages from 30 to 40yrs or finding a way to help borrowers stay in their homes.. CW is a disaster... It's like their not human. I have a feeling after Dec 1st, once bank Of America takes over we will all start seeing changes. Lets keep our fingers crosses.

Bank of America has plans to help those who are affected by this recent home morgage problem. In agreement with accepting security from the Fed. People should see posting of these plans to the Countrywide Homepage soon....

I lost my home after being one month behind in November of 2007. I was told not to make a payment when I call and that I would be placed in the "workout" program. I called every month for an update and to express my concern about not making a payment. Of course I went from 1/month behind to 7 when they finally tried to settle. I had to now pay nearly $3000/month for 12 months to get caught up. That was their offer. I wanted to do that when I was 1 month behind. Needless to say I couldn't do it. So I gave them my financial info again and wait my usual one month. Called in June and got the same BS story that they were back logged and would get to me. I expressed my concern about foreclosure and they assured me I was not up for foreclosure. Still can't make a payment. Come July 14th 2008 I got a letter and had to be out by July 31st....foreclosed!
I tried to extend it 30 days so I could be money out of my 401K. Did everything they told me to do. The day I sent off all my paperwork they called back and said they could only extend the foreclosure 7 days. I couldn't get my money for 15. So I lost my home. Mind you I was one month behind when this started. I could have paid them once I got the foreclosure via a hardship loan. By then it was too late. You'd think they'd want the money and not the loss of a foreclosure.
This bank did me and my family wrong and I have absolutely no recourse.

Country Wide is a big scam. Sadly I am stuck with a mortgage with them. I lost a good paying job and am working part time. I am upside down in my house. I have never missed a payment. I an interest only mortgage - Not a negative arm - I called them to ask about the mortgage modification that was available. They first tried to talk me into refinancing but then after seeing that my rate was the same as what they were ready to offer me they then put me with the loan modification department. After giving them all my information on my debt, income and lack of equity they told me they could not help me because I was coming up short by $300.00 a month which I explained I was taking from my 401K to continue making my payments on time plus the fact that I am still paying all of my other bills on time. When they said they couldn't help me I asked why if it was not good enough for me, who could it be good enough for??? I found out that they are not offering the Obama plan at all. They told me that the only plan they had available was to put me into a negative am mortgage which would just put me deeper into debt. The lady I spoke with at first did not want to tell me this because she is being told to make it look like they are going along with helping restructure distressed mortgages. Amazingly she basically said to me that they would rather see me forclose than parcipitate in Obama's mortgage plan. I will never deal with this bank again.

we just got a forebearance for 6month payment delay and our rate reduced 2.375% from CW we tried for 6 months to do it ourselves then we got 4 months behind and got attorneys after 1 month behind it all went smooth. i dont think you can do it without representation because you will never qualify.

How much did it cost you to go through an attorney? Also is your 2.37% rate a fix rate for 30 years?

I dont live outside my means. Only a 58,000 house. I live on a small island and lost half my income due to divorce last year. I have also been cut back at work. I did not ask my loan to be sold and go to an adjustable rate that is at 11.75%. I work every day just to make the bills. 11.75% is stealing from hard working people. If you dont understand that god from Irvine, CA then mabey you need to look in the mirror. When a company tells you one thing and the does the other that is an outright lie.

Well god. I am not asking for a bailout. I just want a rate that is affordable. I had a 30 year fixed rate until it was sold and then it turned into an ARM without me even being asked or told. I work 6 days a week 12 hours a day. I did not cause the mess. I dont why you think you are so high and mighty. But I guess your name GOD says it all. Im just trying to keep my home and make my payments. I am not just walking away. You say no bail outs with your money but it has already happend to the banks and you dont have anything you can say about it. I am not looking for handouts. I just want something that is right and not stealing my hard earned money. Good luck to you GOD. And yes I still have a copy of all my original home loan documents.

Dear god, By virtue of you using the term "God" as though you are, you are misguided well beyond any financial issues. While I do believe in personal responsiblity and have worked for everything I have, through the grace of God, our family, though struggling remains strong. People go through all sorts of adversity in life, and that does not make them bad people or irresponsible. Accountability is important, but providing a repreive at times in order for one to get uprighted is not a social program. I agree that the government is getting out of hand in giving bailouts especially to the financial sector. However, if hard working Americans, yes those, that actually work to earn a daily wage, cannot take advantage to decrease temporarily the burden of their situation, then who under this plan should? After all, the plan is already in place, using our money so let it be then for common good, not a handout.

I too am dealing with Countrywide. And God, your response is not what I was waiting to hear either. I, unlike your generalizing comments, had a job for 18 years making great money, which I spent in a large downpayment on a FIXED rate loan, only to be laid off after 18 years with half the Company. I have spent every dime I have to stay in this house as in incorporate many hard years of work as the downpayment/lost equity. DONT TELL ME THAT I AM TRYING TO TAKE ANYTHING FROM ANYONE BECAUSE I HAVE PAID/WILL PAY MY SHARE OF TAXES FOR YEARS!!!!!! Matter of fact, now is the time I need the services of what I have and will be paying into and COUNTRYWIDE cant seem to careless or acknowledge any funding via Freddie Mac for any type of modifications. Each time I call I get the run around from a non English speaking representative who is as emotional as a wet dish rag. I am fustrated and about to file fraud charges against a company who receives funding two months ago, yet cannot disseminate the funds to the taxpayers as intended...and we see all the banks getting stock increases..and earnings from sitting on these funds...come on everyone....and GOD...this is the battle you should be recognizing. GOD wrote: Good look at the servicing agreement and the adjustable rate rider that you Signed both will explain that one ur loans servicing writes would be sold and two you had a varialble rate did you read those before signing?
