For some years, both before and after Carson retired, Ed McMahon was a TV host in his own right("Snap Judgment," "Concentration," "Whodunit?," "Star Search," "Kraft Music Hall(summers only)," etc., as well as a motivational speaker who toured the country appearing at major seminars for which attendees paid big money to witness. He couldn't exactly keep up the speaking tours if he was suffering from the injuries received in that fall in his home. Give the man a break.

He could afford it at the time he bought it, what would happen to you if you were unable to work for 3 years? Answer: you would have been forclosed long ago.

Hop Sing from Bonanza died broke too. In contrast Pepino from the Real McCoys did OK. But, they were tokens not quite up to sidekick status.

I remember meeting Ed and his first family back in the 60's on Hunts Amusement Pier in Wildwood NJ. He was the celebrity spokesman.

Let me refresh you. Donald Trump came to his aid when he was being foreclosed on and helped him out. But I do agree he was living way beyond his means it sounds like. But he is just like everyother American living way upon there means! It's good to be in America! Now they went all back to there country!

Am sorry this guy's life must approach an end on such an embarrassing note -- facing foreclosure and having to depend on friends like Merv Griffin for emergency loans. His low-life wife must be some kind of sheister to have spent him nearly into the ground like this.

Ed, hopefully, will have pain-free final days and be oblivious to his money woes. Then Johnny can greet him later.

Ed's free spending trophy wife better think quick. The minute he is gone, her happy gold-digging butt will be on the curb.
