Well united already has an aliance with US Air, look how well that is working out. United Management just wants to merge with anybody so they can get a big buyout and don't have to run an airline anymore.

CO has also had this discussion with AA and BA, they could be looking to bail out of SkyTeam since Delta and NW are teaming up. Or CO is looking at one-to-one rather than alliance links (a relationship with United would not extend to US, Air Canada or Lufthansa like a full Star Alliance member).

Smell Tilton's desperation??

The contract he has gives him an extra 75 million to merge.....if done this fiscal year.
