FAA fines Victoria Osteen $3,000

First of all, JetBag, I love you!!!!!
I started flying 17 years ago. I too have seen the decline and decay of manners and common sense. I promised my Daddy a long time ago, if I am ever in a serious emergency situation, and if I just happen to be sitting next to a door or exit window, that I will get the exits open and get the hell out. It won't be with a polite "after you", it will be with a very loud "follow me!!!!!" 99% of our passengers wouldn't think about me anyway.....I will take rudeness to a certain point, then I just shut down and walk away. Most people would. I refuse to kiss anyone's ass. I don't care how much they pay for a ticket. Overall, the FAA doesn't care about service.........And ultimately they are the ones that hold my official flying certificate.
BTW, I really don't think God ever intended for their to be super rich PASTORS like the Osteens. Jesus was dirt poor in material things. I think someone in charge of that church is skimming from the till. Special place in hell for folks like that......

Oh dear Lord me either. I think God loves us all except the ugliness that organized religion has started with wealth. In all faiths. I had a relative who was a physician. He did work in South America to help those less fortunate, or so it seemed. The catch. They had to come to Bible classes and convert to get treatment. Sad. Just sad. I do not think that is what was meant about spreading the word of faith. This is why the little old lady does not go to church anymore. This is why even the door bell ringers know not to stop at my place anymore, besides the no soliciting law in R.Oaks. I would love to hear the whole story but I do not do Galley Gossip these days I am too busy wearing holes in my Jimmy Choos and being abused by UM's and running up and down the aisles. I will be glad when THIS summer is OVER!

This is the type of madness, that empowers psycopaths likes Vitoria. Three grand clearly isn't enough, since the act took place on a flight, throw in "ACTS OF TERRORISM". Listen, I understand that things don’t always go the way one intends or plans, but just because Joel and Victoria are nationally televised and have a mega church doesn’t mean that we should hold them to a higher standard and not expect them to have bad days. We will never know the full or exact story, but we should know that all individuals have bad days. We don't know what happened hours before the flight and we don't know if Joel and Victoria were having some issues. We would be naive to think that because they are Christian based, that they don’t have any problems. Now, I don’t condone what was done, but it was taken care of by the FAA with a fine of $3000.00 and immediate removal from the flight. Not to mention the negative publicity that has followed. Now we have some woman suing for 10% of the Olsteen estate. This is getting ridiculous. Sharon Brown should be careful in what she is attempting to do

I feel that Victoria acted outrageous in this situation. I feel that because of who she is and what she stands for she should know better. As a Christian you learn the value of being humble and caring for others very early in your walk with God. It is true that everyone has a bad day, however how you deal with that shows great integrity and character. In this situation I feel that she fell short in these two areas. I hope that this situation has given her an opportunity to do a self examination and see that she need some work. You should always remember it doesn’t matter how high you get you can always fall just as low.

Great post dms1023, but I beg to differ with you. The bible states that we all fall short of the glory of GOD and that not one is perfect. If your type of judgment is passed, then be prepared to receive the same type of judgment when it is you being judged.

Wow!We are so quick to judge. We don't know what happened. I don't want to sit in something nasty on a plane. Nobody is perfect. Thank You Jesus for Your grace.

What gives you the right to say that there shouldn't be super rich PASTORS like the Osteens? By your statement, you condemn your own self. You are judging Mrs. Osteen guilty just because of who she is and how much money you THINK she has. YOU"RE JEALOUS! Jealously shouldn't be a reason for suing and taking up the COURT's TIME. IT's people like Ms. Brown and you that ruin the system for others who are doing good in the world until scamers come along.

I was not aware that Ya Ya was a pastor?! I also do not think Ya Ya is suing ANYONE here now is she or taking up anyone's time except yours on your computer time. Drink your "juice" you'll feel better. Does your nurse know you are online? I do not think ANY of us are Jealous of this. You yourself probably contributed to Jim and Tammy Faye on PTL and Joel Osteen. No I do not think ANYONE in their right mind is jealous, or would go to this extreame in the name of jealousy. Last time I heard Jesus did'nt need a Rolex, a Rolls Royce, a home in Vail and a private Jet to spread the word. I am sure you would be quite critical and have been of the F/A in question's lifestyle if given the chance if you have not been already. Oh my mistake.....BTW I am not judging the man just the "items" that are so critical to spreading the word of faith. I find it so interesting that so MANY people have to have SOMETHING to believe in. Is there no idea of trying to make the world a better place NOW for EVERYONE without forcing religion down the throats of those of us who were scared off from the church years ago? BTW I am quite happy with my faith and my place in this world so don't lecture or preach to me. It falls on deaf ears.

Yes dear and you are the one who wants non-stop service from Fl to Or for 59.99 with all of the first class amenities, movie, meal, sleep kit and a massage. Talk about something for nothing. If I am with another passenger and helping them whomever needs me next will have to wait their turn NO MATTER what place they are in a church or society. I am not saying Ms. Brown is right or wrong but you are being JUST as swift to judge her as others are the Osteens. Just drink your juice and take your meds. You will feel much better.

Is everyone forgetting that when you put your hands on someone else in anger or with an attitude in can be interpreted as assault? No ONE has the right to assault another, except in self defense. Violating ones personal space is also not big in my book. I knew a F/A whenever anyone got too close used to love to pass gas. He loved cabbage. Be careful out there. You might get more than you bargained for.

A bad day? A higher standard? Just how does having a bad day justify striking a stranger? And I wasn't aware that keeping your hands to yourself was a higher standard.

There you are I agree....I've never had to serve myself on a flight. If she was beyond wiping spills....oh well. No, it wasn't the way for either parties to handle it, but since Ms. Flight attendant was at work she should have "ATTENDED".
