Well, you can thank the crappy value of the dollar thanks to this administrations horrible economic policy. This is just the beginning, many more major american companies are gonna get bought out. I just hope the Busch theme parks don't get ruined. SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Tampa are great parks and the Busch Conservation Fund does alot of great work.

All of you whine? This IS the American way! Whore yourself to the higher powers of capitalism and fcuk common sense and loyalty.

This is the system that you support, low on government regulations so that companies can can create their own rules. "Let the market decide"... Well the market decided and it is not betting in America.

You're exactly right!!

With all the mergers we've seen in the past ten years, can anyone show us a single one that has lead to any benefits to the consumer, the employees of the communities?

Exactly. This is a sad by-product of free trade and open markets.

The American people thought that they'd get to buy things cheaper and take over companies in other countries. Instead, it's led to job losses and foreign ownership.

The whole concept of Global consolodation isn't really good for any country. These companies can freely move their manufacturing and offices all over.

Where do these companies pay their taxes if they run bits and pieces every where? Is corporate tax revenue going to dry when they offshore there head offices to Dubai and Bermuda.

Precisely. McDonald's does not make a very good burger, but they are #1 in sales. It's all about advertising and product placement.

For those folks who have posted that they will stop purchasing A-B products because you refuse to support a 'non-American' company: Please post your address so I can come by and pick up your T.V.'s, computers, cell phones, i-pods, Nintendos, and- in some cases- your cars.

InBev has said that they are not changing anything about the way Budweiser beers are made -- same recipes, same factories, same people. And really, why purchase such a well-known company with the intent of completely changing everything about that it made it a desirable purchase in the first place?

Exactly, good riddance to BAD beer.
The new owners will no doubt put out an ad campaign real soon with waving American flags, Clydesdales and country music. All of the Bud drinkers on here who say they are going to boycott will be back to the pee-water like the lemmings they are. Too bad. They should try real beer sometime.

Exactly. I can't fathom why someone would spend money on such low-grade piss water. Good riddance to bad rubbish, maybe the Euros can clean up this pitiful excuse for a beer.

Really sad how much of our country has been sold to foreign interests, isn't it? Everything from your banks' customers service department to large companies like Budweiser. These foreign takeovers usually result in American workers being laid off. So there's more and more people out of work, they can't afford to shop, go on vacations, etc., which means more workers will lose their jobs, and so on down the line. Makes me wonder where it will all end?

Well, Budweiser was originally a European beer (Czech, formerly Austria), so I guess it doesn't matter much that it is going back to Europe, does it? ;~)
You're confusing two different beers. Budweiser has always been American since 1876 when it was first introduced. "Budvar" or the other Budweiser you are referring to is a Czech beer that has no affiliation with Bud. It was created after Budweiser. Both beers are named for the Budvar region in Europe.

There have been numerous lawsuits in many overseas countries between the two companies fighting over which beer has the right to be sold as Budweiser. Anheuser-Busch actually distributes this beer in the United States under the name "Czechvar"

Coors is still North American! They formed a joint venture with Miller which is owned by SAB (South African Brewery). The joint venture is owened 50/50 by Molson/Coors and SAB/Miller but Coors remains North American owned with Molson from Canada.
