These gas station owners are independent of BP, they are regular people trying to feed their families.

Refined fuels are pipeline products, that gasoline purchased at XYZ gas station was not necessarily refined at XYZ refinery. Once it enters the pipeline, it is completely fungible and loses all branding. Most times, title to the fuel is transferred at the point of entry in the pipeline. And most times, the pipeline operator is INDEPENDENT of the refinery.

So, BP stations do not exclusively use BP refined fuels! When you boycott any, the product is just sold at other stations. You only hurt retail. Which makes all the boycotters fart smellers instead of smart fellers.
