Very Good News !

yes, please Gomes and your followers, please don't scare this one away.

Keep going....I would love to keep most of my shopping $$ in the city I live in. This is very positive.
Something I can be happy about. Let's make sure we keep filling up the shopping centers we have before building more! There are many opportunities there...
Does this qualify as the "right" kind of business for our new town?
excellent news for Vallejo. Hope we get Lows in also.
another business to rob....

Good to hear.
Now lets get a Barnes & Noble or a Borders. |
Half Price Books too |

Yes indeed, some good news. However, I was told by serveral others, that a Bed, Bath & Beyond is basically just like a Linen's N Things but more expensive. Is this true?
Hey things in Vallejo aren't that bad if we can get rid of Linens & Things and replace it with the much better Bed and Bath -- I'm psyched!
Why can't we get a Macy's?
Very true. |
This cant be good. BB and Beyond will be in direct competition with our 99 cent stores. lol
Seriously, good luck |
Not true -- Bed and Bath merchandise is a much much higher quality and they have a better selection. I bought a blanket at Linens&Things and it disinegrated the first time it was washed. |

This is good news. We still have a long ways to go. One business will not change the whole picture. Now if we only still had Walmart, our tax base would be much higher and the job market would be much higher for Vallejo citizens.
As these new businesses come into Vallejo, I sure hope we can control the violent crime in Vallejo. This all has to come together. I truly believe that if we get three new council members out of this election, that would also be a good start. It would be nice to see council members who are pro active with business, not BS |

VfB, I agree that Gomes and her coalition were dead wrong in killing some projects, such as the WalMart project for Vallejo. Vallejo is a mostly low to middle income city and the affordable products and value pricing that a WalMart offers would have benefited many here in Vallejo. But for the existing retail centers, it is up to the commercial landlords to offer better lease deals in which to entice new retailers to move in. "Centro" finally reduced rent and offered enough incentives that made it worthwhile for BB&B to move in. This has nothing to do with Gomes & friends and everything to do with the Vallejo commercial landlords making attractive deals to retailers. |

I wonder how many PSU positions the revenue will fund? I;ll wager it won't even bring in enough revenue to fund one cop or fireman.

Yes Yes and YAY! |
