Nope we did not want to take a 50% pay cut.. how dare they offer us that... so they went to mexico.. we went to unemployemnt.. I believe no matter what you settle on at this point, you have pushed AAM up against a wall.. so yes .. I guess you have won.. what you won I am not sure, but I believe they will be close in very short order, you fellow UAW brothers have priced them out of the contract loop! Stand Strong!

Times were good, money was made...the well is dry. Regroup, reform or get out. getting laid off is no fun. I was a 9/11 cascualty with a new house and kid on the way..times are tough for all. I figure you can fight it or move on. If you fight the fight, best of luck to you!

"Sinking In America" you need to stand strong with your working brothers. watch how you vote with all the foreign trade sell outs from our union busting politicians . it's the big money screwing over all us little people. fight it all the way. if we lay down we loose and will have a even smaller piece of the pie. OUR POLITICIANS ARE THE ONES THAT ARE KILLING JOBS BY SELLING US OUT WITH THE FREE TRADE AGREEMENT. A nother fool heard from / NOBODY " DESERVES" to lose a job , what is the matter with you we all work hard for what we earn and NOBODY " DESERVES" to lose a job and IF you would look up what the people that work in an auto plant have given back and gave back in order to help the BIG AUTO CO.'S you would see there were a lot of times they gave back and bent over backwards to help the auto CO'S out and never even got a kiss my a-- or nothing from the "BIG 3" so befor you say anyone 'DESERVES" to loss their job you should look back and see what those same people did to help out the co. they work for over the last 30 years or so. the auot worker has given back almost sa much as they have recived. there are people working at the auto plants that are PAYING OVER $7. every hour they work for their health and retirement funds / yes INSTEAD of a raise we did give it back to the CO. so we would help them out and help pay for what we get'/ ITS all there in all our old contracts so JUST look it up / it there / we want to work with the AUTO CO's we like our jobs even if they are hard and dirty , so as for someone "DESREVING" to loose their job HOPE YOUR NOT NEXT" AS I said befor NO/ yes NO job is most of all the jobs in the U.S. can be done in China/ Japan/ or any other COuntry that lets their people earn a great big pay check of all 0f $35 aweek / yes that is less than $1 per hour but the whole world is out to get the Big paying jobs / so maybe instead of putting everybody else down you should get your sh-- together and FIGHT to KEEP every good paying job here , not in China or JAPAN or anywhere else , we need to stand up and fight for every good job not against each other, Good =luck hope you can keep your job fron going over saes and not lost it to the lowest Bidder/

When 11.00 an hr is a living wage in the United States of America it will not matter at all what type of education you have because the corporate monsters realize every job can be out sourced.Why not ask the radiologist in India who is reading your CAT scan for a fraction of wages here.Not just manufacturing but anything and everything can be done outside the Good Ol USA.Let's not forget the people who will cross the borders to do the jobs supposedly Americans won't.American jobs of every level are being sold out every day.

I heard most of the forging work that was done in Tonawanda is going to a company called Formtech. A news source said the wages at Formtech were between $18-$24/hr.

It was and is unpatriotic for corporate america to relocate jobs overseas. China (a communist country), does not and will not play fair. We have allowed most of our manufacturing and Trillions of $'s to flow over to China. Now, they can turn around and buy up most of OUR country, OUR industry, OUR real estate. I work for a company that does no longer manufactures in the USA (Mexico and China ONLY). It makes me sick and ashamed. Without manufacturing, our ecomony has NO FOUNDATION. I fear for our future.
