Ah the UAW is demanding just a tad more in their contract. Ya gotta wonder if American Axel will soon be shipping out to Bombay or Mexico City or ??? Greed will jump up and bite you everytime, sooner or later. Remember Bethlehem Steel and their 25,000+ employees of the 1960s? See ya!

They'll be moving the business to the Mexican facility in Guanajuato. American Axle is cleverly PPAP'ing the product mix of axles from that facility to the various GM assembly plants. If a contract is settled it will surely call for the closure of the uncompetitive WNY plants and it will be the last contract as all production will move to Mexico. Dauch doesn't want a bunch of militants working for him.

The labor relations are broken and will never recover. All you will see is cave-minded UAW workers sabotaging the product and hurting AA&M's competitiveness.

There are plenty of people in WNY willing to work for what GM is willing to pay. The economy will no longer support what has been paid to workers in the past. We need to be increasing tariffs on anything imported into this country for starters.

Get back to work, be glad you have a job!! You are not only hurting yourself!!! There are other business, and families that are starting to feel the effects of the strike. Dont be greety, what they are offering you is still more then some of the suppliers are being paid, to provide you with parts to do your job. You keep snoozing your gonna lose!

i agree, let them go, put an ad in the buffalo news to hire new people to fill the positions, and start them all at the cheaper rate. you know they would fill every position. and i hope something happens soon, cuz its annoying to see those guys outside on walden 24/7.... suck it up and get to work!

Unless they offer us at least $75.00/hr plus free medical and lifetime pension with 20 weeks paid time off a year I am voting against this new contract offer.

Seriously why do we even need unions anymore? No offense to those union workers out there but really comeon.. why do you think vehicles are so expensive? its because of all the ridiculous benefits that union workers get.. they never think they make enough or are given enough, and they make more then most people and get more benfits than most people and its still not enough.. how about be happy you have a job and that you get paid at all.. its not the industrial revolution anymore.. workers are missing limbs in vats of hot dog mix anymore... sure thanks to the unions lots of things have improved for everyone.. work environments are far safer benefits are inplace for all.. but thats not good enough for the UAW... they want MORE MORE MORE.. for what doing a repetitive job over and over all day long...sure thats gotta suck.. but what makes you think you entitled to more than anyone else? how about do your job and shut up.. be thankful you get paid the ridiculous amounts of money for what you do.. sit down and shut up.. do your job because there are plenty of people who would love to take your place without a union.

Wow...just wow. You people are retarded if you think its all about money and benefits. Its not, if they didn't have the UAW AA, GM, Ford, would have shipped all their jobs to china, Thailand, Canada, Mexico, etc. Instead the UAW helps garuntee that these companies don't worry about just lining their pockets with more money but keeping jobs where they should be for American cars....IN AMERICA. Not to mention if you did the jobs that we do for 8/ 9 dollars per hour with a raise maybe of 50 cents a year, you wouldn't be doing the job either, especially if they made you pay for most if not all your benefits. But go ahead tell them to get back to work while u handle a claim for someone on Geico, your job just as easily as theirs can be shipped over to India, whats stopping them from sending your job? nothing, whats stopping them from sending theirs? billions of dollars in grievances, unemployment and contract violations. Oh and by the way this wasn't about jobs either, AA wasn't providing their numbers necessary for the UAW and its members to see if they were getting a fair deal.

Plenty of unemployed people around the Buffalo area who would gladly take those jobs at the lower rate. Unions at one time benefited the people. They don't do that anymore. All they are good for is sucking the life out of this economy. The unions have demanded too much in the states. That is part the reason they are sending jobs over seas. The hourly wages, medical benefits, paid vacations and everything else they demand, costs. They aren't afraid to use heavy handed tactics to get it either. Look at the people from the Union in LakeView who just got busted. I'm sure that problem runs rampid in all of the Unions.
Western New York could have saved millions in tax dollars had Non Union members done the big jobs around here that these companies were hired to do. Instead the Unions in WNY decide to threaten, beat and destroy. Yet you expect the people in WNY to have sympathy for you? LOL too funny! Get over it! Take what they offer. You are effecting alot of other families with your greed!

YOU IDIOT!! ALL OF US HONEST UNION WORKERS , WHICH HAVE BEEN PAYING OUR DUES IN EVERY MONTH, ITS BECAUSE OF US THAT YOU NON-UNION BUTT KISSERS GET ANY TYPE OF DECENT WAGE. SEE WE JUST HAVE TO DO OUR JOB EACH AND EVERY DAY, THE UNION MAKES SURE WE ARE TREATED FAIRLY,WE DON'T HAVE TO KISS UP TO OUR BOSSES. WE DON'T HAVE TO LOOK TO FAMILY OR FRIENDS FOR FAVORTISM, OR SLEEP WITH SOME JERK OFF BOSS TO GET AHEAD, SO I UNDERSTAND YOUR JEALOUSLY, CUZ EVERYONE OF YOU WOULD WORK AT AAM IF YOU COULD GET IN, AND AGAIN ,, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION THIS TIME,( GEE NO WONDER YA CAN'T PASS A TEST. YA DON'T LISTEN) WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR MORE, WE ARE WILLING TO COMPROMISE, COMPROMISE MEANS ** BOTH SIDES MAKE CONCESSIONS** NOW DID YOU GET THAT.

Hang in there, dont give up to much, AA may still downsize and move a lot of their buisness out of the country.
All you people who dont think a union is needed are crazy, you could be on the job for 10 years with no problems. Then one day you get a new boss who dont like you and rides you till you quit or get fired. With a union stuff like this and many others are kept in line.
By the way, you think people dont get hurt at work any more, you are so wrong, on average 17 people get killed a day at work in the US.

sorry about the yelling but some people just won't listen,
we just want a fair contract and benefits. Now I know it does not matter, you are not comprehending a word I am typing cuz you are so full of hatred for the good honest union worker. but do you not understand, if we don't take a stand . you will be next.if wages drop to $14.00 an hour which is less than what Dana or Delphi makes, what makes you think your employer won't come to you next and cut your wages. because you make lets say $10.00 an hour ,you think they won't come after you, LISTEN AGAIN,,, ITS CORPORATE GREED PEOPLE, ALL CORPORATE GREED,

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aries

It won't be long before you start to feel bored today, unless you can distract yourself - you're switching from one activity to another. Ideally, you should keep yourself amused by doing something that's unusual or challenging, otherwise you'll be tempted to stir up trouble just to see what happens next! Even though you know that's a bad idea, you won't be able to resist, unless you've got something better to do with your time.
