Hey sweetie, I have a job, job security, good pay and benefits, and it's non-union. What does your husband have? If he's in Tonawanda, he has no job, no job security, not going to get good pay in the future with his skills, lower benefits, and all because he had to rely on a union instead of himself. If he's at the Cheektowaga plant he has a job, but not much job security. Pay is good for his skills, actually more than he deserves. Benefits, we'll wait and see what the details are. And if he doesn't like this, he can thank his union for negotiating such a great deal for him. And why am I an idiot, because I speak the real real truth? You don't like it, don' read it. It's a free country, non one is forcing you. Besides we can't let this blog be full of union propaganda, now can we. Good luck to you in the future and to your husband, let me know which McDonald's he'll be working at!

Good luck to you in the future and to your husband, let me know which McDonald's he'll be working at! Because you are sooo unelightened! The rumors of closing were there long before the strike. The union has given us alot and a great retirement. Don't ever feel you have job security--in any industry--always be prepared for the next step--you will have one over the course of your working life--the old days of getting a job to pass down to you kid are over! We don't do fast foods so consequently he won't be flipping your burgers--he has been offered two jobs (both professional) but he is waiting to see what is on the table--we walk before we run! We did our running and to you young ones--good luck--life has its turns and just be ready for them!

One is that many feel it's pretty sad that you folks are still in the mentality that you pass your "union" job down to your son. Oh that's right I forgot about the gene pool. That's the only way you folks have the ability to get a job. Second: I know plenty of companies that are not willing to hire Your workers because of their lack of production and TOTAL work ethic!!! If your husband got those job offers he will soon be in the unemployment line because those companies won't put up with that!

Umm you really don't need to be smart to get into the union!! Just have a family member in there!! Remember you eluded to that already. You're the idiot.

Have you ever read the extraneous Bull that the unions put out there? Yours included? It's so much propaganda it would put the Nazis to shame. The rhetoric almost seems like you folks are the minute men out to save America. Well how about saving America and JUST WORK!!!! And work for FAIR wages people. 27 an hour for production work is not fair. You creating overtime for extra cash is not fair. I have a friend or two who are in your circle so denial is futile. So look at your Union, which in itself is now a multi-million dollar business, instead of blaming others for your misfortune.

If your husband got those job offers he will soon be in the unemployment line because those companies won't put up with that! Good Post! Here's one for you: Found this on a website, couldn't have said it better myself: Top Ten Reasons Why I Don't Want A Union 10. The union doesn't write my paycheck. 9. Unions would rather cause problems than work together. 8. Union scale means the best workers are carrying the worst. 7. The people who want a union really need one. 6. Too corrupt. 5. Too political, too liberal and too partisan. 4. Unions are only about power and money for the ones who run the union. 3. Unions are negative about everything but how great they are. 2. I like to work steady. 1. I've got too much self respect.
