Ya, the last i heard all of the axles coming from American Axle had to be checked by a third party do to the poor QUALITY. I would be real careful buying a vehicle right about now. They drive a bus through town down there in mexico and if you get on it you have a job for the day, if you dont it most likely wouldnt change the quality.everyones job is going there. This is why we should be happy for the UAW for atleast STANDING UP for themselves. What doesnt make sense to me is if all the (smarter if i had to say it) mexicans are coming here than what ones are putting your trucks together, i would almost be ashamed of myself naming that company American axle, how dare him. Call it MEXICAN AXLE. Hopefully nobody will get hurt when they start falling apart. Oh ya, almost forgot....im not sure whats worse, a mexican or a management member building auto parts, way i see it either way the quality just fell SEVERELY. Kudos to the weak, bloaded and greedy.

why are you picking on the Mexicans, they did nothing to you, other than take a job you refused to do. They are just trying to make a living just like you and you brothers, they might not have all the luxuries you do living in the USA or Canada, but unless you know specifically what you are talking about and have been to Mexico to investigate. I think you should go back to work building axles at american axle before it becomes Mexican Axle, which I would support...yes, i said that, the other workers affected by this strike need to get back to work, this is something your union should have worked on a long time ago. dont you thunk!!!

Don't hate the Player... HATE the game! In Mexico, those who do have jobs worry about their job going to China! And the US Corporations just RUSH to send everything they can to China or other cheap labor places. So, what's wrong with that? What's wrong with making profits? Well if that is the only issue.. the Global/USA Corporations would be most happy if they could just have Slaves! The profits would be huge! Think about it. Oh.. forgot we can't have slaves no more. Soooo, let's go some where and pay the people $10 a DAY with NO benefits! I don't know about you guys, but I can't make it on $10 a day. Nor can the Mexicans make it on $10 a day. DON'T HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME. THE GAME IS USA CORPORATIONS SELLING OUT AMERICA!!! NOT JUST THE US, ALL OF NORTH AMERICA. NAFA IS NOT THE ISSUE, THE JOBS ARE GOING TO CHINA IN THE NAME OF FREE TRADE. TO A COUNTRY THAT DOES NOT EVEN BELIVE IN FREEDOM. NO HOW DO YOU THINK THEY WILL RESPECT "FREE" TRADE.

Concerned, you are an idiot. People as un-informed as you need jobs like the one you must have, wich by the way will be next to go to mexico along with your pay. My point if you didnt know how to read is that i have all the proof you could ever want to prove mexicos quality is not near american axles in the states. Atleast the people the strike affected are GETTING UNEMPLOYMENT un like us. If it is such a problem for you to miss a week or two of work then you already are getting paid what you deserve and deal with it. You must be one of the under paid ass kissers who only worries about himself. This fight is just beginning so get use to it. We need more people in this country like the American Axle workers who do stand up for there right for fair practices, you wouldnt know that since you dont know what an american is. Go put your tail between your legs and run along with your unemployment check SCAb. DONT GIVE UP UAW, GO AS LONG AS IT TAKES!!!!!!!!!!

I am not an ass kisser!! lol I care about the economy, I would rather have it in the USA. But how do you get it, not with a union, but with a plan. What is your plan stan???? huh....think of that question and give me an answer RUSS.

How is the UNION going to settle this strike, do they have a plan, or are they letting the wrong people do thier fighting for them.

They need a leader, i dont think they have one, maybe RUSS can be the leader.

Lead them to a plan, get the job done.

From what i hear about AAM, they have the same quality issues the mexicans have mabye more. RUSS, I have worked with AAM parts from the USA, would you like me to list the defects your brothers and SISTERS let go with blue bingo dabbers present as a witness mark to good quality.

Let me know RUSS!

Do you really think this strike is helping the people or the company.

I know it is helping the company.

What are we going to do about it??? what can we do now, i see people with baskets of food , great, but lets get the people off the streets into the plants and back to thier lives, its better to make some money than none. protect what we have.

Concerned!!!!yes i am concerned about AMERICA!!!

These Lazy overpaid Union workers have forgotten that there are people that will work for a fair wage. Even if it is in Mexico! I don't like it anymore than you do but if you don't make some concessions on your pay that is where your job is going and they will do it for a heck of alot less than $14.00 an hour!! OK, good idea, let all of us HARD WORKERS bend over and let them take half of our wages. Why not, lets be the next mexico just so we can say we have jobs. I still have yet to hear an honest answer as to WHAT IF YOUR EMPLOYER CAME IN TOMORROW AND SAID YOUR GETTING ONLY HALF OF YOUR WAGE JUST BECAUSE, oh and by the way what would you be willing to bet that the price of ANY car or truck would still cost you the same! When someone can truly give me an honest answer to that i will listen. Its not about anyones wage but ours. I dont care what the ceo`s make. If you truly had a clue about any of this matter AT HAND GENIUS you would know the uaw went to the table pretty much willing to take paycuts knowing it would secure jobs LIKE WE DID THE LAST TIME INCLUDING BENEFIT CUTS AND THE TIME BEFORE THAT and then they through that bukllSH@# at us. Further more you should also know that this is GM`S deal so they can lower there inventory and the whole thing was planned months ago. How does that make the blue collar feel now knowing we dont mean S#@T including you and where you work. This should open ALL workers eyes across THIS country because after us it will trickle down to everyone that is bitching about being laid off after only one week! Hmmm, sounds like to me they couldnt afford to lose any of there pay INCLUDING HALF. These messages are not to bash the fellow man or blue collar worker....they are to let people know that we as PEOPLE are not taking it anymore and hopefully more TRUE AMERICANS will take note and know that sometimes standing up together can make a WORLD of difference. GREED is an ugly thing and so be it the fat get fatter but ill be damned if your doing it off MY OR THE FELLOW UAW`s BACKS. STAND STRONG UAW!!!! better days to come for ALL the fellow BLUE COLLAR WORKERS! We all are so quick to judge other peoples situations when most of the time we dont even truly no the information AT HAND. Some things are worth fighting for, no other way to put it. I think alot of people might have forgotten why we call this The UNITED States Of America. I also think Mr. Douch has forgotten why he even bothers calling this business AMERICAN Axle.

take a trip to the "industial" cities in Mexico Park your car overnight it will be covered in some 1/4 inch of ash, walk down the steets raw sewage flows down the streets, look in the rivers there will be no fish, dress "western"(American) and pray you don't get mugged. Where the cities are close to tourist areas you will find wall/gated cities. If we would work for "competitive wages" we could bring those Mexican (or Asian) luxuries home to?

Enjoy your PAID TIME OFF GM SUPPLIR/SCAB. I sure will even without being paid, you should go find a 14$ an hour job if you cant live with your current wage. Sounds like you dont have much of a plan yourself. Mexico is hiring im sure, you will fit in fine right behind one of the bosses rear ends where the tip of your nose is.

My point once again that the idiotic yellow bellied canadian cant answer my question. Stay your yellow ass in canada where you belong. Im not the one complaining about being off work, you seem to be a bit stressed to me. Hope your out for quite a bit longer and by the way i can do plumbing and make more doing that than my job jack ass. How old are you? still living with mommmy and daddy i would guess by your comments. Can someone that has a brain answer THE QUESTION::::::::WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOUR EMPLOYER CUT YOUR PAY IN HALF AND TOOK YOUR BENEFITS ALSO. Please be an AMERICAN that answers this as we OBVIOUSLY know what the canadian from oshawa would do. You must be a pro at bending over supplier, go for a supervisor job.

I'd like CEO's to work for a fair wage, say,$150,000 a year. Think they'll comply? LOL! If CEO's care about the company, they should all take concessions as well. Put up, or shut up.

The problem that these workers at American Axle are not considering and I think the union does not want them to know... is that GM is starting to insource jobs under their contract from last year and paying their new employees 14 bucks an hour... for example... if American Axle cant lower their labour cost to 14 bucks an hour... GM will just take the work away from them and start their own plant making these parts paying the new employees 14 bucks an hour.. saving GM millions!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.mlive.com/flintjournal/index.ssf/2...

These american axle employees are going to strike themselves out of a job.

Sorry if the truth hurts.

We are self employed independent contractors. I don't have a boss Mr. Russ. I am the boss! I agree that the top dogs at American Axle should be making less however thats not how the system works. You sir are a worker bee! You are to work and get paid. I don't see the problem with higher wages for the worker bees IF the worker bees as a whole are good workers. That being said most union workers have become lazy with the attitude "thats not my job" and sit til someelse does the work! This is what I see on a daily basis.

GM SUPPLIER, It seems to be you are being a little more logic. Although im not sure wich union your seeing says ITS NOT THERE JOB because i work at axle and it is by far one of the best working groups i have worked with. The truth of the matter is people want this company to work, most dont care what the upper management makes. People might complain but we are well aware we are worker bees and we also are aware what we have done for this company. I cant tell you i had my reservations on some of the bullsh#$ i heard years ago but i am CERTAIN my mind was changed through the changes and experiences i have seen the union take on and accomplish. Again as i said before we have given ALOT to axle and then some and were willing to go to the table with concessions and then they dropped an even greedier bomb on us. I will blame NOBODY for not wanting to take a half wage paycut regaurdless if union are not, so be it if a company hires more people wether they are foreigners or not atleast i give them credit for standing up and knowing even a worker bee deserves fair practices with in his or her employment. The question still about talking a half wage paycut has not been answered though. You being a truck driver could not tell me with the price of gas that you would simply nod your head yes if you were to be told you were only going to recieve half of your normal wage for doing the same job. This is what we are fighting and it is nothing i am happy about myself to hear other people were affected but they get unemployment and that is a blessing considering we do not. The trickle down affect will reach everyone, maybe instead of people ASSUMING (we all know what that does) they can get the facts straight as to why this is being done and what it is going to mean in the future for all suppliers, either way this goes i absolutely am POSOTIVE the prices on vehicles will STAY where they are.

Russ You are sooooo right about the fact that is not fair that they are asking for you to give up 1/2 of your pay. Believe me I understand the concept behind your strike BUT the big companys(GM and American Axel) will do whatever it takes to keep THEM in business. I just know for me this strike is killing my business. We don't get unemployment or strikers pay. With fuel being $4.00 a gallon on top of it all if the strike doesn't end soon alot of us in the trickle down are going to lose more than our businesses but perhaps our homes too!!
