There is no place for a union in todays society-all it does is promote laziness. Almost as hard to get fired from a union as it is for a teacher with tenure to get fired-RIDICULOUS!! The rest of the working sector has had to take pay cuts-added insurance cost- fewer hours-yet the union employs for some reason think the rest of us should be ok with it. Wake up-You no better then the rest of us. Why should janitors in unions be making $28 hr plus? The biggest reason most union employees get so upset over people bashing the union and trying to do away with it is because they couldn't cut it any where else after 20 years of stupidity and laziness
Do you really need to see it again. Well, okay. It's the "janitors", as you put it, though more clearly the unionized employees, that are actually keeping up with the economy while everyone else is falling behind. And I guarantee GM was among those in the studies:
In the Grand Rapids Press on Saturday, November 19, 2005 this very small article hidden in the lower right corner of the Life Styles, section E5:
"Doing The Math
Chief executive officers at 367 top U.S. corporations were paid, on average,$431 last year for every $1 paid to their companies’ average production worker, according to publicly available information jointly compiled in September by Institute for Public Studies (of Jon Hopkins University) and United for a Fair Economy. In 1990, the ratio was about $100-to$1.(If the federal minimum wage had increased since 1990 by the same rate as the multiple for CEOs' pay, it would have risen from $5.15 an hour to $23.03, but, of course, it's still $5.15)."
Excepting of course someone elsewhere pointing out the minimum wage has jumped up to $7.15.
I just can't understand the mentality of people who will fight so hard to stay in the mire.
