its unfortunate but they are between a rock and a hard place, and they must accept it or risk the chance of more plant closures as these companies can move to Mexico for cheaper labour ... its a real eye opener for the auto workers of the world.

Unoin Schmonion. I can't belive union workers cry about not getting enough benefits even when they get paid $12 to $32hr plus benefits. When I worked at Winn-Dixie in Fort lauderdale, we told the union NO. In Texas Krogers is a union grocery store, people get little raises 10 cent 50 cent depending on seniority, not JOB PERFERMORANCE, Winn Dixie is not-union (or did not use to be). Someone like be can come in, work all the time, 3 different departments, be on call, put in 50 60 hours a week, and go from part time to full time with $1 raise in 3 months. Wait about the others that have been there 4 years? They don't want the responsibilty and don't want to work as hard or as many hours. UNIONS S_uck... You should pay by job, and availability, and work, not by how many years. Yes if 10 years you should get a decent raise, but QUIT crying if your making $20 hr + benefits, and they don't give you everything for free, If i made $22 a hr, I could pay for my own doctor with out helath insurance, big union babies. Also crying they don't get enough for free...that why all the jobs are in China now,,,cause United States workers & unions are too greddy, thats also why the illegal immigrants can work here and get paid $6 to $12 a hr under the table, becasue unions and all associate with them are too greedy. Go on strike for a job that I qualify for, and I'd take your job & keep it I wouldn't care if they only gave me $12 hours instead of your $22. So quit crying all the Union babies.

UAW is a scam. I can't believe the union workers that follow the UAW like Lemmings off a cliff.

What? You think they deserve a REWARD for disrupting THOUSANDS of other workers and suppliers (like me)? These troublemakers don't deserve their jobs back. Oh, you watch, they will not have them for long......Good luck bidding on the next big project...Like American Axle is going to get it....

GET BACK TO WORK.
WTF - The people at American Axle should be uterly ashamed of themselves. Take the wage and work like everyother person in the world. So your not making enough money and you don't have the greatest benefits, tough shit....majority of people are making minimum wage. Your desire to strike has left North America is shambles. People from all over are not working because of you!

I agree with Not A Golfer....American Axle will not have its contracts renewed by GM, American Axle has caused GM to lose so much money already. They deserve to have the contract pulled completely, that will show those striking that they should be happy they even have a job.

I hope American Axel gets a FAIR deal in their settlement! I agree with Joe-"IF your boss told you that he was cutting your pay by 50% would you like it." When reading the posts from the bashers, I consider the source. They are clueless to "the facts"!

In your strike for greed you fail to relise the impact that this has caused for suppliers to G.M. Which will raise the cost of vehicles, Which most people cant afford now. Hope it`s worth it!

""Live Bait & Ammo #108: Buck the Bull

"I did not anticipate that we would be where we're at with Axle," Ron Gettelfinger told the Detroit News.[“UAW: No Role in Axle Talks” 4/29/08]

Didn’t expect it? Where has the president of the UAW been? Did he somehow imagine after record breaking concessions at GM, Ford, Chrysler, Delphi, and Visteon that Dauch wouldn’t want a piece of the patsy?

UAW members better take a hard look at what’s going down at Axle— reduced wages and benefits and frozen pension— cause there’s nothing between you and the Concession Train but your bodies. We all better hope that UAW-VP Jimmy Settles doesn’t settle for less at American Axle.
What does hope mean? Double the strike pay, a Paul Revere call to reject scabs and turn back trucks, and a resounding NO vote on any concessions.""

Keep going down that trail and the company will only close the plant and move. The look on your faces will get about 3 minutes of coverage and life will move on. The market will only pay 50% for the labor because that is the rate on a global level.
