when i heard my cousin bought a mac, i got disappointed on him blowing all his money for a weak ass macbook air. WTF!! what money wasted, at the same price of that junk, i built my own laptop. and kills his mac in looks and performance. xD

fu<k mac, fu<k apple, i bought an ipod touch once, thats my only apple product ever, and my headphone jack got stuck in the headphone input after 1 month, i sent it to apple with that crappy apple care shineniggen and they said it was water damaged, WTF. everything worked, only thing didnt work was music.

i dont like apple, overprice, for looks not for performance, ive always wanted an apple computer when i were younger but now, im all about building a pc, not just running windows but other operating system as well.

I've been using macs for years...... wouldn't own a PC....
To the gentleman with a crashing mac I would suggest one thing....besides an education... buy ram....... if there is a problem with a mac is OS X is a big piece of software..... it needs ram.... don't even boot the thing with less then a gig....... the other thing that switchers run into that cause what you're saying is close programs that you aren't using..... macs are designed that way.... so if you don't have the ram for it..... you need to close programs you're not using..... but you don't know how.... any piece of high tech equipment, be it your cell phone, your HDTV, your surround sound..... you have to learn what it does, read the book...... because your mac is fine..except you need ram.... you have an operator problem..... same to the girlfriend with a learning disabilty....
I agree u need to stop complaning.

Here's the thing:
Apple stipulates that they are first and foremost a "hardware" manufacturer. I would be willing to pay their outrageous prices IF, they actually had proprietary hardware in there. Other than the logicboard (big deal: it's black) and maybe the "A"chip (on some models. Everything else is someone else's hardware. ATI, Nvidia, RAM(?) Intel. Tell me: what's the dif? Oh, they must be paying alot for there brut aluminum rolls you see in the videos for making their "AMAZING/INCREDIBLE"
Macbookpro case. I might be wrong on some points so plse bare with me.
I think they are charging 350-599 for their OS. So THAT might be the issue with their pricing structure. Knock off that expense, "give" the OS with the purchase of the machine and maybe just maybe the red alert on OUTRAGEOUSLY OVERPRICED would drop down a notch to KINDA PRICY. which I could maybe live with.

If every component was Apple built. Then just maybe. Don't get me started on the made in China argument as well.

This comment and the word "douche" add no value to the discussion.

There is a reason millions of people in the United States are switching to macs everyday. There is a reason that Mac sales are surging every year. Apple is now a much larger business than Microsoft. At current growth rates, Apple may be 50% larger than Microsoft within a year.

We tend to give the aging laptops with weaker batteries to the kids, and buy new ones for the grown ups. I buy the cheapest I can get, trying to hit the <$450.00 range. Here is a brief summary of our computer fleet, acquired between 2006 and now:
* Compaq - 1, Acer - 1, Toshiba - 2, Lenovo - 1. All 5 are 15.6", and are still alive and well, apart from weakening batteries on the older ones. Most run Windows 7, some - Ubuntu.
* 13" Mac Book - 1.5 years old, died without warning (HDD gave up). But even before dying it wasn't any faster or lasted any longer on one charge. A cute looking scam.

Interesting set of comments on the recent posts (I didnt read back too far as the previous writers probably don't watch this anymore).
The 'reason' Apple is so big and growing is simple. Not because they are better (they're components come from the same manufacturers as PCs), not because their OS is immune to malware and viruses (the attacks and workaround hacks are growing), but because, unfortunately, there are so many posing fashionistas with extra spending cash these days it was bound to happen. For example, the iPad, lurches from one problem to another and then the potential for some of it's problem is revealed when a factury exploded in China recently. THEY ARE FOXCONN BOARDS...hello, did we all forget what a disaster Foxconn is as a motherboard manufacturer. On top of that, using China to make components cheaply and then having the bare faced cheek to seel the sub-standard fashion accessories at bluntly ridiculous prices. I used to be one of Apple's biggest fans, drooling over their next innovation, but then they turned into PC's with an overpriced linux system. Not to forget of course, as owners of some very dangerous patents to do with Unix, a certain other unassuming technology company could finish Apple for good if it wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if every employee at Apple had a BMW....and a lot of you will know EXACTLY what I mean by that reference. As a friend of mine said a while ago..'BMW has finally decided to give away a freebie add on with their cars.... one free bag of arrogance'.
