Apple's Dark Side: The Human Costs of the iPad

As with any product, whether it's chemically made, snapped together, intricate design parts soldered or wood carved. There is a chance a worker will get hurt, whether by chemical burns, slip of a knife, fingers pinched and eyesight problems due to mini componets set in chips. Always...a risk. But will that stop a purchase, Nah, gotta see, gotta have...mine. They figure these folks picked their jobs and are getting paid..not their concern.

Apple doesn't care any stinking employees because they are replaceable. Apples says we only care about profits not people. American capitalism at it's greatest.
Apple must be related to the Koch brothers.

Tired of reading crap like this. Don't like Job's politics but just damn tired of this crap.

Job's own stubborn ideas caused his death. No one knew better than Steve, his own God, when it came to curing his cancer.

in China, mostly employees working for peanuts living in restrictive dormitories. Free enterprise at it's finest.

Well DUH!!!! Just how do you think your i-phones & i-pods & i-crapola are affordable? Manufacture them in America and no one could afford them.

Once again the SHEEPLE act like sweatshop labor overseas is such a big shocker to them.

Apple's products should be boycotted until they can come up with American level of safety standards in their foreign factories. I know I will not buy an Apple until this garbage ENDS.

Politicians who made it possible, both Dem and Repub, also deserve criticism. This is the flip side of 'let's send our jobs out of the country so we can import cheap s--t.'

NPR did amazing reporting on this, based on the embedded reporter who spoke on air for the story.

Just remember folks, this is not just Apple- it's Walmart, Target, Cargill, auto compaines, HUNDREDS of AMERICAN businesses lying down with communists and impinging on the human rights of THOUSANDS who are expolited daily for their labor, then tossed aside.

This is the same worker model the Republican Fascist Right wishes to unroll here- company towns where slave labor is allowed to live, work, play, attend church, get sick, and die- all within the walls of the gulag.

Vote Republican, and you vote THIS for America's future.

The really maddening part is that the US government was
giving tax breaks to corporations who moved their manufacturing operations to other countries.
Subsidizing the export of American jobs. Un-effing-believable!

That was done by Republicans to bust unions, and demoralize the working class.

Repealing the minimum wage is next on ther agenda once they've finished off the right of freedom of assembly.
