Thanks for all the info from all you ladies out there. REALLY helps one make a decision. Especially as not to work for AG. Have heard the same story from the local merchandiser here as well.

I read where you stated that you had become an American Greetings merchandiser back in 07, do you still enjoy it, and if one only checks the box that asks if you can work - I checked only 1, and that is the one from 3-6. Will they still call? I did not do the resume just the application.

Okay, I went to my interview today and the person I spoke with was quite nice and up front about the job.$10.00 an hour and no compensation for driving. I told her tonight (via email) that I have some pride and cannot accept a job with such crappy compensation. Yep, it sucks alright! Unbelievable that this company wants you to do all that work and drive your own car on your own dime for a whopping ten dollars an hour. Jeeeez! Unreal!
Some of us need a job.

I have been working for AG for about four months and although the pay is lacking, I really enjoy it. I never get the job done in the time frame they give me and no one has ever complained about it. I also get paid for all my time even if I go over. I get paid to travel between accounts. I like the fact that I am in control of my accounts and its like a little business of my own. I love the flexibility of the job and it suits me just fine. The pay isn't any worse than MCDonalds or retail and I don't have a boss breathing down my neck every day. The wastefullness of the company is disheartening. They do throw away alot of stuff and I really wish there was an alternative to that. But, other than a few complaints (mainly pay), I feel that it's a pretty good job for someone who must wants to work part time hours and wants flexibility. So, I guess it depends on who your boss is and how nit picky they are. My boss is great. So, apparently, some people do just fine with this job and some don't. You have to decide for yourself. Just remember, you are not going to get rich doing it.

Hi ,

I have applied for the P/T position.
-How long did it take to hear back from AG after you applied ?
-What type of questions are asked in the interview ?
-How is the pay , How many hours are you working a week and are you paid mileage ?

Thanks for the help :)

I planned to submit my application for a greeting card merchandiser, but saw that one of the questions was if you could repetitively lift 50 pounds... I don't know too many women who can lift that much repetitively. Yes, I can move boxes, etc. efficiently, but I don't know about this. The merchandisers I have seen in stodon't look like weightlifters to me! Any advice from any of you who are already in this job? If I honestly answer NO would it jeopardize my chances of getting a job?
This is just an idea!
I would say I could lift it being once! Then Buy A dolly To help lift boxes and a back brace just in case!!

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
