History of what is going on. I bought a new house in last April and a buddy of mine told me Allstate was the way to go. I had Geico previously and was very happy with them. But I switched cause they gave me a good rate. I have been in my house over 8 months now and my floor broke. Allstate says my house is settling and refuses to pay. My house is a 1983 house. Surely a rocket scientist can figure if the house was going to settle it would have done so a long time ago. I had an engineer I found on the web come look at my house and write up a statement saying the house did not settle but a break in the wood happened. Allstate still refuses to pay. You buy insurance to protect from things like this and now my family is at risk of injury if something bad happens. Be very careful using this insurance. You are NOT in good hands with Allstate!

No insurance company is going to pay for mechanical break-down, auto or home!
If it was caused by weather, fire or vandalism...then yes they should pay. Not for something that broke due to age.

Allstate has been more than fair in my experience. We had a roof that hail damage was discovered recently. I am not sure if it was existing or new, but I know everyone else was fighting with their insurance company, and Allstate replaced my roof!
I am in Good Hands!

Tony, I know you do not have an insurance license, therefore do not understand how your insurance works and what it does and does not cover. Anything that happens over time due to age, wear and tear etc is a homeowners responsibility. A covered loss on your home has to be sudden, immediate and have a direct cause to be covered. Your insurer is not responsible for that kind of claim and would not be covered under ANY homeowner policy, regardless of which company you are insured with. Sorry to break the bad news.

Lilpixie is absolutely correct. You don't say in your note how your floor broke.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Gemini

You're in a warm-hearted and generous mood today, especially when dealing with loved ones and members of the family. You want to give them as much of your time as possible, and also to do anything else that will keep them happy. The only snag will come if you're trying to spread yourself too thin and you end up making promises that will be difficult, if not impossible, to keep. You may forget all about them but other people won't.
