We have been given the legal run around by our class council long enough. Do you think it is about time that all the claimants bring suit against our lawyers for delaying the process even further so they can get every last dime even though they have been paid their 15 million plus.

Yes, after all we've been through. It's ridiculous that the law firm has recieved confirmation of their settlement, but yet the rest of us linger in limbo after 11 years. If it takes a law suit to get what we deserve than I'm for it. Plus the law firm lacks keeping everyone informed. This has been a nightmare.

If, you feel that way about it then, someone should contact the Washington State Bar Association.Their phone number is in the Yellow pages.

The money has been held in an escrow account that earns o intrest. If we would have each hired a lawyer individually we would never have seen a dime. Thank you WM&B for all your hard work. enjoy the money you earned.

Yes "0" interest is right! We were promised interest, but that is a broken promise now. The only groups that benefited from the interest earning escrow account is the lawyers, Albertsons, and possibly the Garden city group, NOT the claimants. The money the lawyers "earned" is $24 MILLION dollars, for 3 whole lawyers and their one office person.

That amount is almost half of what a total of 7000 claimants/people are having to share ($53.3 Million dollars).

$24 MILLION for 3 lawyers and a staff person

$53.3 Million for 7000 claimants/individuals

Some how this just doesn't quite seem very equal.

So you go ahead and praise them for a good job, they did a job alright, a good job at spending our money.

All those off the clock hours put in by employees was really to pay the salary for the lawyers, aren't we nice to do all that work for them!

I knew those jerks were getting something for nothing.Oh, excuse me, they were doing something...lying at every opportunity they could get, maybe not outright lies??But, avoiding the truth is just as bad.How do all the bad people get good jobs???They say, easy come easy go.Maybe, they will have to wait someday in their miserable lives for something. But, to take it out on innocent people is a shame. It's usually the sins of the Fathers, they will have to deal with, that later on in life and they will.

You have to lie cheat andf steal to be a lawyer in today's world. Who has ever heard of an honest lawyer today???? They have the love of money which is the root of all evil. Not to mention all they had to do was rip all of us off for 24 million. Wow can you imagine how their lives have changed? This little bit of money we are getting really won't change us but the 24 million will definitely change them.....

Yes. We should file a class action law suit against them. And if they lose the millions they made off us then so be it. And god bless them.

so what was the reason that all this money was not in an interest earning account for all of us? after 11 years, that would have been alot of money.

fresno girl:
The money did earn interest but not for us, only Albertsons and the lawyers received our interest. Albertsons only set aside a maximum of 37 million at first back in 1999 for this lawsuit and the court said that was alright to do no more no less. Then race ahead 11 yrs. and that amount grew with interest to 53.3 million. Little did they know at the time that there would be 7000 claimants, if we all got what we should of, there would not be enough pie to go around, and rather then make Albertsons cough up more money to cover, the lawyers settled for the smaller amount. Thus reducing our payment to a share that the claims administrator thought was fair. They even put the maximum payout at $28,014 of any individual claim.
I for one am receiving about $40,000 LESS then what was represented to me by the lawyers. I had well over 1700 hrs worth of off the clock time. If I got what they told me I would get, overtime rate per hour plus 6% interest per year for 10 yrs., the amount should of been triple of what I am suppose to receive. It is ironic, we had a set amount to receive, but the lawyers got 17.5 million at the beginning, and yet they recently came with their hands out to receive 6.5 million more and the court agreed to that. IF only I didn't have a conscious, then I would of made a great lawyer! But I do like to sleep at night.
Go to the other forum "Are there any Albertsons Off the clock lawsuit claimants out there??????" , I began it on May 15, 2006 and begin to read, you will be enlighten, really! Basically the only ones who made what they thought they would is the lawyers. 24 million for 3 lawyers and their support staff while 53.3 million is to cover the claims of 7000 people.

I think WMB is still laughing all the way to their lamborghini's and Ferrari's off of this settlement. Sure they probably spent 2 million on our defense but the rewards have outweighed the risks tremendously. They are the true winners in this whole thing. they did the best job possible for their own interests. The claimants were never their main focus as manifest by all the lying and half or partial truths from the beginning. They took this case because they saw all the up-side for their own pockets. If they really cared about their claimants they would have continued in arguement for the full amounts for us. They got their payday which is truly all they were really after.
