if you work for the big A. I would not vote to strike. Do not lock yourselves out. Remember, you will be working for another brand, or different industry soon enough. Earn what we can while we can.

Hi Kelly,
Glad to know there is another strong lady like you in the union. We need more of you.
It is people like you that I have the most respect for. It is sad to hear that people are out on stress leave. But I must admit it is better than having them SCABBING.
Will you agree? It would be great if this blew over before Easter but each day that goes by makes me believe we are in for a surprise attack. Keep your life jacket on, trim your sails, steady as she goes & pray sister 'cause it smells like a storm coming.
Say again

Vince, wake up, your dreaming. Albertsons is not interested in what you & I think they should do. They are only concerned about what more than can get out of you and I at the lowest cost. They want us to smile and whistle while-we-work, as they shrink our hours and benefits.( They have a quartet and they want it to perform like a symphoney orchestra.)
Our employers are unrealistic, unfair & greedy.
Lets fight for what you know is right.
Never, never give up. Solidarity can not be beat!
Hello Victoria, My wife and I live in San Luis Obispo, we lived in Irvine for 18 years before moving to San Luis Obispo in 1991, I recall the last union strike up in SLO the last time they did this, it was a mess, it really messed things up for all the locals. They seem to forget about the folks that need t shop for food etc.

Motomom That sucks about your expenses piling up while on strike & you bustin' butt to support your co-workers for a better package but at the risk of seeming irritating may I ask how you got a good enough pay package to be able to afford a motorhome? I would guess somebody Unionized & worked on contracts before you even joined the company. It's been 'bout a hundred years since women took to the streets to unionize for a living wage in the garment industry; they got cracked heads & worst for their insistence for a subsistence. Then the miners that do some of the nastiest work on earth; they got murdered. & so much of our country managed to keep going from the depression on because of strikes despite the notorius 'bosses' that did all they could to keep the masses from asking for more of the pie by unionizing. I know in this area I was overwhelmed at the family support workers got when Von's struck. OK so there were some losses taken & a lot of people don't even remember what it was about but their were pluses too. & self respect. But what do I know - I hate all the box corporations for selling crappy cheap stuff at inflated prices not caring a Damn! about the health of either their workers or customers especially. I personally shop small locally but we all can't work there. But then again if everyone who said they were going to buy from me when I was in business did instead of from the boxes then I would still be happily in business & not on the IE talking.........

Been reading this thread with interest.I am sure there are some really good unions out there. But surely you realize how certain unions like teachers union and auto unions have ruined their industry.Detroit is losing jobs to foreign countrys and 82% of public education budgets are for salaries and benefits that raise yearly depending on the cost of living allowance.Private schools need less than half the money that public needs. Its out of control.Dont even get me started on tenure.Think about it two years on the job and you are guaranteed a job for life.

Daily Horoscope for June 3

Sagittarius

You're in the mood to spend today, especially on the spur of the moment. Be careful if you can't afford to make any impulse purchases, because a lack of cash won't stop you! If you do decide to splash out on something, you may be disappointed when you get it home and you might even decide to take it back.
