<quoted text>It's all about who travels well and who will draw the most $$$$$$$...the media gets what the media marketers tell them, so someone can make $$$$$....that goes for recruiting as well....yes, in my opinion, everything that is entertainment sucks, everything. Back in the day as far as college goes, guys would get their degrees and maybe go pro. Now, for basketball, 1 year...gone, Football, 2 years....gone...coaches gone after they told parents and the kids that they would be there for their sons...so, even though you are dogging out my Bucks, look at the bigger picture.....no one cares about what you and I think, they do however care about you and me when it comes to us spending our $$$$$$
Its even worse in basketball than football, but its crazy that
a school would chase a coddled "blue chip" recruit ... spending
a small fortune getting him to commit ... knowing that the kid
has absolutely no interest in staying more than necessary
before the NFL (or NBA) intimates he would be drafted.
I also don't understand why it is schools take pride in being
used as a minor league franchise for the NFL. If that is the
purpose of an athletic program, lets just be honest about
it and stop this nonsense about "student athletes." Lets just
pay 'em and be up front about it.
Any NFL or NBA team that drafts a player before college graduation
should have to reimburse the university double the cost of that
kids college expenses for the years he attended the school.
