John Price has nothing to do with this. The PCHS must have told all these people to call the lawyer they use. They have bypassed the PCHS and went stright to the lawyer. Rumour has it that Louella Dutiels wife has been at the PCHS meetings and I know for a fact that Dutiel has been to the meetings I saw that one myself. So possiable conflict there or something.
The Pchs meetings are open to the public, so who cares if Dutiel or his wife came to a meeting, that doesn't mean anything. The fact remains that our county Humane officer has also been one of the ones that just turns his head to Dutiel, the question is why? Those people wouldn't have had to "by pass" the pchs if He had been "leading" them. I know he can't do it all himself, but Something has to be done. Far too many animals are being mistreated, neglected and abandoned and No one seems to care. Come on people, Lets pull together as a county and take care of our animals. Together we can make a difference. Stand up against Dutiel Perry countians....enough is enough.

No they are not open to the public I tried to go once and they resceduled it and moved to thier neighbors house and I was told that John Price said the PCHS is a private org. even though the paperwork I filled out asked if I was making it private or public and I made it public but John and Bev changed that, just ask them. The bylaws I wrote up state that no one who is involved in animal cruelty is welcome and Bev and John never changed the bylaws I made.

Thats not what the ads in the paper says when it advertises the meetings. It clearly advertises for new members and states that the meetings are "open to the public". I don't know who you are or what your "by laws" says, but I do know what i read in the paper.

I hope when the dutiel mess is over with and he is put outta business i hope the rest of perry co. is investigated. The lawyers sleep with the judges and everyone is in cahoots with each other here in this co.
Its all in who you know and blow here in perry co, ohhhhhhhh and what your last name is. They have been turning their heads about dutiel for over 20 yrs.
That's easy to do when your hands are being greased with dirty money. This county makes its own laws as it goes along........a friend of mine who is black served 6 months in jail for non-child support payments he only owed $1400 i know many white men in perry co. that owe thousandsssssss of money in child support but they have never done no time so like i said someone needs to come to perry co. and clean the bitch up........ty

It is about time someone stands up. These poor dogs, It is essential that we get this bill past. What did these poor puppies do but give love through there illness and death. Who deserves a death sentence ????? It is disgracful we have no law in effect to prevent this down right horrid cruelty to animals.

I was the person who solely started and ran the PCHS for 4 years. I filed all paperwork for incorporation and 501c3 and the bylaws for which the humane society is suppose to abid by. Jack and Bev stated that the humane society is private they are not the ones who post the ads, the person posting the ads wants people to join but Bev won't approve them. There are 7 people who have been waiting for approval to join the PCHS for a month now and Bev will not approve them and her reasoning is it is a private org. But she will let these same people volunteer to work. I know first hand how it is suppose to be and how it is being done. I started the org. single handed.

to do what you ppl are asking is going to take a nation to care
there is not enough animal lovers out there for that,
the goverment does not see this breedig thing as a national emergnecy they are not gonna send out the army navy and marines to spay and nueter your pets
its your right to choose to spay or nueter its your right to be ignorant and breed and then dump them, also its dutiels right to do as he sees fit with them
the only thing he legally has to do is sell his dogs fit for sale
thats it, you guys are wanting all dogs to be spayed or nuetered ok hows that working for ya in 20 years when there are no new breeds or new pups to keep lines going or anything what needs to happen is what is taking place with the breed bill
all ppl breeding or having unfixed males and females in the house need to register it and then the counties humane society needs to get off thier lazy bums and go see these dogs in person instead of saying yeah i done that and never showing up,
also all dogs need to have tags so that all dogs are registered and they can find every dog, make the dog tag fee realistic for even the poor to be able to afford if they have more then one dog,
i have 13 dogs and hell thats 260 a year not to mention my checkups shots if someone gets sick feed toys chews treats yard maintence fencing maitence grooming, i figured it up last year i spent $5,000.00 on just my dogs along for check ups vet stuff food toys and crap, now tell me you have the extra $20 a dog every year to do that with this economy

HA> the humane officer is suppose to get off his bum??? hell, we can't get him to help starving animals. but it is a nice thought. besides, even if spay/neuter was mandatory there would still be several that would be non compliant and I'm sure in 20 years, there would still be pups and dogs that would need homes. Hopefully not as many as there is now. and if the Ohio Puppymill law goes thru we will have that in our favor....they just aren't sure who to make responsible for following thru.

I bought a chihuahua puppy almost 2 years ago from this place, she was only 5 weeks old and 1.2lbs. A few days after bringing her home she was very ill and sure enough after taking her to the vet it was confirmed that she had the dreaded parvo virus. Luckily with treatment and round the clock care on my part she pulled through and is happy and healthy today. I know at least 3 other people who bought puppies from there all were sick, one was returned after her husband threated Dutiel, one pulled through the parvo virus and both the other 2 pups purchased from a family member DIED.

If Mr. Duteil had nothing to hide then why would he state that "It wouldn't be good business," as the reason to not allow a Dispatch reporter to approach the cages to take a closer look at the dogs and their living conditions? If anything, that would have GIVEN him good business!! He would have had a great marketing tool right there to advertise for him for free!! Any good businessman would have seen that opportunity! I know of people who have purchased dogs from him and both of the puppies were very, very sick; and yes, one specifically with the parvo virus that almost killed him. After a very heftly vet bill for both of the dogs, they survived.

This is what needs to be done now, while there are still no laws to stop anyone from conducting a business such as this -
First, never, ever buy a puppy from a store or a broker (who sells through classified ads, out of hotel rooms or even out of a van in a parking lot). The one thing we can all do to stop this business from carrying on, without waiting for laws to be enacted, is to stop them from making any money. So, if you want a dog or a puppy, either adopt one from a shelter or a rescue group, or get one from a reputable breeder. If you choose to go through a shelter or rescue and you want a specific breed, go to www.petfinder.com and run a search for that breed. You will not believe how many are out there waiting for homes! If you choose to purchase a puppy from a breeder, how do you know it is a good one? A good one will not let you just buy a puppy; they want to know who you are, where you live, how many hours a day the puppy will be left alone, what do you plan to do with this puppy? Show? Compete in some sort of sports? You will meet at least the mother of the puppy, and you will get a detailed pedigree. You will also agree, that if any time during this dog's life you can no longer care for it, you will bring it back to them, not dump it in a pound or unwittingly give it to a dealer where it will end up in a lab or be euthanized because no one can find a home for it. This puppy will always have a home, no matter what. THAT is a good breeder. Oh, and they usually only have two litters a year at the most, and their prices are no higher than the unhealthy, unsocialized puppies being sold in the stores.
Second, you can get out there and let your voice be heard in public! There are protests always going on against pet stores, the Buckeye Dog Auction (next one is Oct. 17!) and in front of courthouses where trials like this are being conducted. As a matter of fact, there is going to be one this Friday, August 21, from 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m., while the pre-trial conference is going on inside the Perry County Courthouse. I am planning on being there, and so should all of you!
Third, all of you who have posted here that you have purchased a puppy from this man and have had problems with it or it died, get in on this suit! Don't let just a couple of people just stand there, holding the bag! Don't let this man get away with this! Do something!
The poster who said how difficult it is to get legislators to pay attention and do something in any instance that involves animals was right; they often have more important things to do and they don't want to step on the toes of constituents who line their pockets. But if enough people get out there and make some noise and let them know how we really feel, and we get enough media attention (a very powerful tool!) maybe we can get this big, heavy stubborn ball rolling.

The Wagon Wheel Ranch is another typical puppy mill operation where mass produced inferior bred puppies are churned out with making money as the only motivation. The mothers spend up to eight years producing up to sixteen litters, never getting out of their cages. All of the dogs are never exercised, never see a veterinarian, never vaccinated and never groomed. The USDA has minimal standards requiring only three things, food, water and shelter. If the food is moldy, if the water is green and the shelter is an outside stacked wire cage, requirements met. Want to make real change?
