It would have been more personal had they (oea) gave us (teachers) an option. What kind of publicity is this going to give the other side? Are the next 50 posts after mine going to talk about....."see we told you union's are thugs...." "forcing its members to pay $52...."

God is greater than any governor....I'll tell you that though. Kasich can do nothing without His permission...

I would expect nothing less from the powerful teacher's lobby. They remain totally out of control with their unrealistic and polarizing demands. Time to reel them in and bring them back into mainstream America.

Just wait and see what the pro-SB 5 side can raise in money to defeat the referendum -- $15 million or $20 million or whatever is needed. This teacher dues assessment isn't nearly enough.

Quality teachers will always be in demand as nobody wants their kids to suffer from a poor instructor. Teachers who merit better pay by their performance will be fine. Union leaders living off mandatory dues and the teachers in the lower third of performance are the ones that should be scrutinized.

The assessment is not voluntary. Its mandatory. Forget all the dues you have paid over the years. They need more. More and more just to watch their referendum get smoked in November.

So, is that why God gave them the idea to place the SB5 language into the State Legislative Budget?

Kaisch is making the tough choices that will improve the lives of ALL Ohio children and their parents. Fiscal Responsibility, Individual Liberty to work FREELY, these are of God.

Union Bosses are threatened by the true audacity of Hope.
Good Job Governor Kasich!

I am appalled that my union dues are FORCED from my paycheck to pay my political opponents without my permission.

The vote of the assembly, representing 718 local teachers unions, was not disclosed.

How's that for transparency? 1,000 teachers decide to pick the pockets of thousands more. That's the exact same mentality that has gotten us into this mess. Nowhere else in this state does political action FORCE its members to pay. If it has overwhelming support, raise it from the teachers like everyone else, via voluntary contribution. What a lost opportunity to show how truly this has overwhelming support.

Well sure, the Koch Brothers will write a check out of petty cash to pay for SB-5. Probably the same account they pay Kasich out of.

Seems the focus has shifted from mega-millionaire CEOs, hedge fund fraud, mortgage fraud and the largest Wall Street bonus for the suits who "work" there and produce, well, not much except for them.

Rather, it is teachers who are now the enemy, The world according to Rush. Let's privatize public education so it responds to the market forces, the same as the suits on the Street.

Punish those greedy teachers, most of whom max out at the mid-$50,000 at the end of their career. Students are dumb or doped? Teachers', you just don't work hard enough.

Do you union haters know the percentage of union workers in the US? Look it up. Do you know the salaries of the Union executives? Look it up. Do you know the salary of Jamie Dimon, CEO of Chase Bank, who, like you, is just doing his job? Look it up. Get intelligent. Become a teacher when you do.

Going shopping today? Then don't be surprised if you splash out on items that are that little bit different from your usual purchases. For instance, if you set off for the supermarket you might end up buying lots of exotic ingredients so you can experiment with them. This is unlikely to get out of hand unless you're feeling bored or fed up, in which case you'll want to spend your way out of your current mood.
