I see kids walking home every day from South High, so don't talk about lack of parental supervision unless you are talking about your own area, not mine. I hope that whoever did this to this child is caught and judged by their peers. I don't know what happened for this to happen to this child; but I know that it could have been handled better, and no one needs to be hurt in the process.
Does anyone have to pass basic English in school anymore? People write like they are texting--no punctuations, no capitalization, incorrect spelling, etc. Albert Einstein could have written a brilliant article, but if he couldn't write it properly; he'd come off sounding like a moron!
its people like you that create the problems in the schools. you are more worried about people blogging with correct english than you are about a student who was mauled by a group of rabid beasts. i'm all for correcting people's mistakes but as a TEACHER, given the nature of this article, now is not the appropriate place . quit your job, you arent worthy to have children exposed to you.

To Payador: Why is it everytime someone commits an act of violence the racial profiling begins. Is it possible that someone who listens to rock or country music might actually have been involved in this?
Pointing fingers doesn't help this or any other situation.
God bless the victim and his family.

Wow with all the tax $$$ SW schools are getting, you'd think this wouldn't happen there. Everyone used the excuse the levys would enhance the district to where everyone would want to live there.?.?

Because I'm a realist... They should be prosecuted for racial intimidation & violence... If it was a black kid and gang of white kids beat him up guess what... Bill Cosby said it best... "We cant blame the white people anymore..." Cockroaches... I need to move to Zanesville before I shoot some poor SOB...

"Child got hurt;'? "and I wouldn't want it to happy to any child"?
Starting a sentence with a conjunction...'But'? You never start a sentence with a conjunction. You like those semicolons when a simple comma would be more appropriate, don't you?

Let me guess, your a Columbus City School english teacher. Correct? Your joking, huh?

I agree with you English teacher. From a business point of view, people should also "proof" their documents before they post. Had you done so.... the correct word you would have typed would have been HAPPEN not HAPPY.

I think Albert would have cared about the people involved. He seemed to be the type that looked at the big picture. I guess the point I am trying to make is, it doesn't matter what English you use. It's the matter if you get your point acrossed. I think your grammar has nothing to do with this story.

You misspelled a word also, you wrote happy instead of happen. No big deal, it happens! Have a good day!

You are right. There is no reason for this to have happened at all. Sometimes I wonder if it would be better to home school my own kids to keep them away from this violence. These people need to be put away for a very long time.

What ever happened to the police patroling the areas near schools? There also used to be safe houses that had signs posted on their windows to let kids know where to go for help. People just don't care until something happens to their family member. These thugs were propably suspended from school for fighting in the first place, just what they wanted, so they could run the streets all day. If a kid is suspended or expelled they shouldn't be allowed outside, police need to step up and check kids out like they used to.
your true....but those days are over..they careless..

Daily Horoscope for December 17

Capricorn

You're in the mood to spend some money today. That's fine if you've got it, because you'll have a wonderful time strolling around the shops. But it isn't such good news if you're supposed to be sticking to a strict budget because that will be well nigh impossible once you've seen something that catches your eye. It will keep saying 'Buy me, buy me!'
