Here in Chicago, the ban is simply "fading away" in many small neighborhood bars, No one cares.

Unless you're always attached to a blood pressure meter, how can you be sure your blood pressure went up?? Sounds more like a physiological problem to me!!

Rest assured though, I'm sure that they make a 'pill' that will quell your paranoia...

Nearly 60% of Ohio voters approved the 2006 ballot issue. Do you really think that now that we have been breathing clean air for nearly 3 years that somehow the smoking advocates are going to repeal the ban. I hardly think so. I will go down in defeat even worse now that in 2006.
I don't recall asking the smoking ban advocates to do anything, we don't need more fraud and it will be solved by either the legislators or the courts. Fraud si a crime!

The business owners have suffered more than enough under the illegal smoking ban by fraud so get over yourself

And psychological response...smell smoke = intense rage = higher blood pressure from fight/flight reflex. While the fight flight response is physiological it requires a real fear. Since the smoke invokes an emotional response of hate, that represents the psychological reflex as there is no imminent danger. This combo is well within the patients lifestyle choice as hatred is learned so this patient should have their health insurance premiums increased until they change their perspective through anger management and bio feedback. We should not have to pay for her lifestyle treatments so these mandatory therapies will be at her own expense. Her own subjective history indicates she is a wino as well so this is the second lifestyle error she has made and now her premium should double.

Actually Sure, as long as the advertising budgets were equalized and Big Tobacco didn't get involved to give the Antis an easy target, the ban would probably be set to exactly what the voters INTENDED to vote for when they voted to exempt family-owned businesses and private clubs.

The equalization would need to be overseen properly though.

Paranoia appears to also be a symptom (No, YouTube videos are not made by tobacco companies. That is simple paranoia from antismokers who are irrationally afraid of tobacco companies.)

A great experience to watch the Buckeyes, have some wings and a beer and no blue haze of nasty smelling smoke. A great evening thanks to the voters of Ohio.
So what? There were non smoking bars before the ban and unless you have multiple bodies you can only be in one place at a time! So you decided to take over every bodies choices how self centered and selfish can one get? OOPs I forgot to mention inflated egos can be addictive too!

I refuse to visit military clubs even as a member that allows customers to smoke. I even heard the excuse our bartenders and waitress will quit if they have go out to smoke da hire those that will obey the law. I'm sure there are those unemployed would. This country is majority rules and 59% said no to smoking no matter about pettions.
As a VETERAN I think your post here is a bit of a fraud. I am a Nam VETERAN that knows VETERAN is SPELLED VETERAN not "Now as a vertern" being a VETERAN I was in the MILITARY, what brach of the service has a "But if most miliatary base"? While in the MILITARY I OBEYED ORDERS if I hadn't I would have disobeyed them thgus I disobeyed!

You go and smoke everyplace it is legal to do so and I will stay away from you, but don't come around me with that nasty stinking filthy habit of yours. You are not the only person with rights!!!!!
No he is not the only Vet as I am one too. Seems like you might have a serious temper problem, you think the ACS will donate some money to the VFW or the American Legion to help transport patients to VA Hospitals. By they way you will have to drive yourself to a VA Hospital as our American Legion has had to cut back as due to the SMOKING BAN DAMAGE CREATED BY THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY!

U, Issue 4 was fine. The problem is that Big Tobacco wasn't willing to invest enough to cover its "discount" rate. A dollar put into an ad campaign by Big T is only worth about twenty cents compared to a dollar being waved around by "The Children" and "The Selfless Doctors" and "The Amazing Invisible Piles Of Cancer-Stricken-Cute-Teenage-W aitresses' " bodies.

Tobacco went into those three state battles in 2006 planning to roughly match the Antismokers' spending and didn't plan for that discount. If Issue 5 had been on the ballot alone it probably would have gotten beaten. If it had been on the ballot alone and HONESTLY included the data "No small businesses or private clubs will be exempted." it would DEFINITELY have been voted down.

After 3 years of a ban I think Ohioans might be quite happy to get the smokers off the streets and back into their own selected bars and restaurants, particularly if they looked at Minnesota and saw what happened to the gambling revenues there after the bans hit:

http://arclightzero.web.officelive.com/Docume...

Btw, you'll notice that that graph does NOT include the "WorldWide Economic Meltdown." When the meltdown is graphed in from the following year it shows up as barely more than a blip after the string of smoking ban disasters.

<quoted text>what about the right to not smell you if I am eating? we should be on equal ground(and I admire your bravery on our behalf-which has nothing to do with the subject) and NO ONE smokes in restaraunts. if you want to smoke-go out to your vehicle(which I would never purchase if you were to sell, gag)maybe there need to be smoking restaraunts like there should be smoking bars? It would be sad for the youngster that needed a job and ended up bussing in the smoking resaraunt though.
I am a NAM VET and I started working as a stock boy, bus boy at the age of 14! The L&K I worked at then was like all venues at the time including the hospital smoking establishments! Now I knew they smoked but I chose to work there. At 16 I held down a service station by myself, changing tires doing tune ups, changing oil, even making change! Yeper I'd close at 9:00PM take the boss perhaps $300, at the age of 16! Yeper lived through smoke, lived through lead in gasoline, was never robbed except by taxes!
I am now 57 I smoke and still a kicking! Theres a fact of life I learned young that perhaps some people just can not comprehend, we will all die someday and we will not cheat God when he says it is our time!

Let's make a deal: How about if we agree to allow smoking in bars again IF, I can walk 100 feet in any direction in this city WITHOUT seeing a cigarette butt laying on the ground. I was at a scenic lookout at the New River Gorge, I looked over the railing and saw about a 100 cigarette butts just below me. You throw them out of cars, in my yard, and anywhere you please. They're also all over the entrances to any establishment, be it food, retail, and especially bars. It is a disgusting and rude habit.

Capricorn

You're dashing around in several directions at once today because you're gripped by the burning desire to get things done. You're in a tearing hurry, and the problem is that this could make you rather irritable if things don't go the way you want or people don't jump to it. You might also be feeling angry with a friend, even if you can't put your finger on what's wrong.
