Note of Correction: Janiece Miller was NOT laid off- she was FIRED because of the now "EX" council member Thompson. Unemployment Bureau has stated 3 times that she was "FIRED" unjustly.

All of you can say what you want about this lady, yet someone had to elect her to office! I imagine she did not do what was wanted of her. Also, not a one of you would ran for any office in life, so who is the weak one here? This appears to be a story in which the majority of Whitehall did not get what they wanted and they simply put her out of office. How petty is that? If you want to prove this writer wrong, simply run for office. I also enjoyed the comment(S) that resorted to name-calling, what a class act! Enuff Said.

"If they think this is going to put an end to it, no, it's not," she said. "I intend to run for mayor."

I hope you can hear, because your "people" spoke very loudly about their thoughts on you in politics.

Just goes to show how Redneck Whitehall is! The people there are just as vicious as the dogs. I would not pass thru there on a wing or prayer.
Low class! High crime! Idiots. Hope they get bitten by their own demise.

If only people understood what a "pit bull" ban really meant. Writing into law a generic term is idiotic at best...because it does nothing to solve the problem. Hold the people accountable for their actions and the actions of their animals…no matter the size of the animal or damage caused. Pushing these issues instead of doing something worth while only shows her inability serve the state of Ohio…in any office

Sorry, but it doesn't make much sense to me to "ban" a breed of dog simply because it has the potential to be dangerous. Any dog has the potential to be dangerous, even poodles, shih tzus, and chihuahuas. Don't think little dogs are viscious? I have scars to prove otherwise.

So where do we go with this? Do we ban all dogs? Might as well ban cats too, since they also have claws and teeth. And while you're at it, let's ban any item that could be potentially used as a weapon and mandate that everything must be constructed from nerf foam. Would that make everyone feel safe and secure?

Here's a concept for you: responsibility. If you own a dog, whether it be a pit bull, black lab, great dane, or whatever, it is your responsibility to keep that dog under control. If your dog gets out and bites somebody, guess what? You're now responsible for paying that person's medical bills, along with whatever pain and suffering, lost wages, or anything else they may be awarded in a court of law. Some states and localities require dog owners to carry special insurance for just such a circumstance.

It's really quite simple. Keep your dog on a leash, give him obedience training, don't physically abuse him or otherwise do anything that may cause a dog to become violent. As long as you manage to keep your dog safe and healthy and can keep him from attacking people, you have the right to continued ownership of that dog. Plain and simple. Doesn't matter what breed it is.

Besides, isn't targeting a specific breed of dog for forced deportation or euthanasia a sort of discrimination? Would it be okay if we were talking about banning a specific race of people? I think not.

i own one of the first cousin to the pit bull and i think that the pit bull law is stupid they should make the dog prove that it is vicious before you need to get the insurance

They should prosecute heavily those who treat these animals in such a way that they become agressive.

Like people who commit other crimes, people who harbor and encourage agressive dogs should lose their homes and other property.
