snyper wrote: <quoted text> "Salvation through knowledge" is gnosticism, an outgrowth of the Sauline heresies, refuted by James, Peter and John the Presbyter, and was repeatedly and soundly refuted during the Patristic period of early christendom. It has inevitably crept back into various sects due to the Sauline heresies. Even in the accounts by his own followers, one can see that Saul was smacked-down pretty soundly by the Jerusalem community. Yeshua is recorded as stating clearly what standards will be used to reward even those without any knowledge of the criterion. Do you recall the passages wherein this is so? I hope you stop hating yourself and turn to God. Sincerely

You can have all the "faith" or "belief" in God without any other knowledge except the faith and belief that Jesus is the son of God and that He is your savior. The thieves on the cross knew nothing about him. One thief realized who He was and was saved. I guarantee you that the saved thief knew nothing about Jesus before that day.

Where do you get the idea that a thief of Jerusalem wouldn't know about Yeshua? If we believe the records, he'd been making quite a stir for the prior few years, and the populace had given him a parade just a few days before. I think you misspoke. The rest is just heresy. In Matthew you will find recorded very clear criteria ... none of which includes "knowing" anything. It's more existential than that.
