Sending baby boy to college next Thursday.

For those that have done so already; what has worked, what has been something special that they appreciated during the transition, or did you just kick them to the curb?

Glitter going to be drinking with Jonah at 6am on the 23rd.

Save me!!!! I don't want to be a Jonah :(

P.S. Shut up Big Johnson, I'll remind you, all about the Glitter.

Our guy leaves early morning...
The best advice is to help get things to his room, give him a great Glitter hug, kiss him on the cheek and leave him to get squared away!
Go to the park, sit and have your good cry, get in the car and have a drink on the way home.
Do doubt you will miss him being around the house.
Good luck.

Thanks Boom. I'm actually handling this better than the Bum, but that's the OCD in me coming out. I think I have him squared away, sans a couple of things; starting this weekend...

Okay, tears are welling, time to go pick on Reader

Your obsession with tearing down another poster seems to have managed to sully a really touching moment you were trying to share. I hope that you're better able to stay on point and enjoy moments like this when you're away from the computer.

I'm going to assume that this post was directed towards me.

I have no obsession with tearing down any poster; you come after me or people I know, dam skippy I'm coming after you. You leave me a line that I can run with, dam skippy I'm sprinting. It's called posting on topix.

Take it easy on the phone calls email etc to him. Leave his facenook alone if he is the type to put his entire life online.....somethings mothers just don't need to know.

When I moved out I had already been working and earing real money on wells etc. My mother only came to my house once or twice when I was at my fisrt house and attending OU.

“Meh.”

Little Glitter may surprise you by having a difficult transition.
Be sure that she and big brother find a way to stay close.

Unexpected cards/packages -- even those without $$...LOL -- are always great pick-me-ups for students with usually-empty P.O. boxes. You might tuck a special note or a framed photo into his belongings to be found after you leave.

Best wishes to all.

Thanks tip for the tip. I would be lying if I was not concerned about LG. Eight years difference between them and he has been a magnificent big brother. Takes her to lunch, doesn't ask me for money to do it; takes her to the movies, doesn't ask me for money to do it, etc.

My whole family dynamic that I've worked so hard for is changing. Now I'm crying. Time to pick on Reader.
