We as society and parents allow too many things to go to far....everyone has a sense of entitlement anymore...right or wrong this young man has obviously taken things a little too far with one too many girls. they must have enough proof to have arrested him and they must have enough girls that have been victimized by this one young man too many times. We all screw up but we all have to learn a lesson too. If the allegations are true, I hope he gets the help he needs....I pray that all involved can find peace one day, if he is proven innocent, let this be a very valuable lesson to all one way or another. Boys, girls, men and women have to realize that with every action there is a reaction and with every reaction there is a consequence...this is how we all learn and grow as humans. Everyone needs to come down from their soap box! NO ONE is perfect in this life....and we all screw up. Sadly, this time its a young man & several young women whose lives will be forever changed regardless of the outcome of the trial. God bless all the families involved. Stay strong and keep your faith in yourselves and each other.

If an adult was "accused" of this type of crime they would release his name what is the difference? If my daughter went to school with this individual I would want to be informed

This is all a shame. If you would publish all the facts, the story might change.(Oh wait a minute, that wouldn't sell your paper now would it?) The first girl has been out with this boy on many occasions after this so-called rape occured, with her parents consent?(I don't know). The other girls have been over to the accused house for bonfires and teenage get togethers on many occasions, since their alledged incidents occured. If this would have happened in Franklin Co. probably no charges would have been filed. Since it was in Licking Co. it's big news. I wouldn't say normal teenage activity, at least not with our children,(which we do have both boys and girls) but sex, fondling or whatever you want to call it, does happen between teenaged children. It's not what we as parents want to find out about our kids, especially our daughters, but it does happen. A lot of times this is concentual between both parties and the boys talk the girls into it. After its over the "boys" have nothing to do with the "girls", they got what they wanted and as far as they are concerned it's over. This activity is as old as time, is it rape? Is it kidnapping? Obviously in the Licking Co. Court they view it as both. My question to them is - how can someone kidnap another person on a school bus?(Which is also stated in the court docs.) Anything to get them press and make the citizens of our County feel that they are doing a "Good Job". Reminds me of the Salem Witch hunts of the late 1600's. This has been happening in Licking Co. for years on these sex crime cases. The Johnson's are not a bad family and I am sure neither are the girls families, some of which we know and are also good friends with. All good people I am sure, that are in a very bad situation. But my feelings are to the Dispatch - if you are going to publish the accused minors name and address, you also need to publish the accusers name and addresses. They could be criminals as well, and could be charged with something in the future if this is proven to be all false. And to all you commenters - quit judging people and situations you don't have all the facts on, it makes you look like a fool!

INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY why don't you look at yourself before judging a person and a family you do not know. If you believe everything you read before getting educated on the entire situation (which none of us know...this came out yesterday) then you have no right to comment on ANY current issue. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Regardless of what a girl wears it NEVER gives someone the right to rape her!! I don't care if they were running around naked. No means no and if that boy did rape them that's on him. How dare you blame the girls or their parents for what they may have been wearing? Shame on YOU!!!! I'm not saying he's innocent or guilty but considering the fact that 11 girls came forward accusing him of some form of rape I'm inclined to believe them. Shame on you for trying to put this back on the victim! You should be ashamed of yourself! Especially considering that you're a mother yourself.

It wouldn't surprise me if you were somehow related to the boy in this case. If this were only one girl, maybe I might be able to believe he was wrongefully accused, but 3 and 4 VICTIMS? There is no doubt he did something to those young girls. Rape or not, he sexually assulted them. My only problem with this is if he is found guilty, he should be put in an adult prison when he turns 18 to carry out an even longer sentence. They want to release him when he is 21, the time when males are in their sexual prime. It worries me to think there would be more victims.

You say you are also friends with the girls' families, maybe you should get their story (if you haven't already) before you decide which side to support. You need to face the reality that the majority of young teenage girls today do not respect their bodies and do not take into account good values...they use their bodies to get boys attentions and as many others agree will "fool around" with boys and when all is said and done get angry. This boy should be put into an adult prison after his juvenile sentence?? Why don't you say lock him up and throw away the key? If you are ignorate enough to think that a young boy on a football team would not have plenty of girls throwing themselves at him and that being a teenager with hormones going strong would not accept advances then I feel sorry for you. I agree strongly with the previous posts from realistic adults. This is a horrible situation that will haunt this kids. I pray those girls know what they are doing and understand the consequences that will come whether guilty or innocent. I pray they are not being influenced by parents who are outraged they their young girl had sex or is a daughter of an official in the area who doesn't want their promiscuous teenage to look bad on them. Whether it was rape or not he assaulted them?? Please. Do you really think he dragged them into the house in front of his family then into his room. Or did some young curious girls go knowingly into a boy's bedroom and regretted afterword?

This is a sad story for everyone involved. And without choosing sides, people should be aware that there are some girls out there literally throwing themselves at these boys. Sending text messages with naked body shots and talking boys up. This is not an excuse but a fact. I've seen it and checked it by contacting the girl and advising her not to send any other photos to my child's phone. Needless to say she was embarrassed that she was found out by somebody's mommy. I perform regular audits of my children's cell phones, emails, etc....if you as the parent pay the bill, there is no privacy.

I didn't and will never judge these girls or this boy, just telling another side to the story that hasn't been told by the Dispatch or the local TV stations, because it wouldn't sell papers or commercials. My main points are (that you must have missed, at least part of): the Dispatch was wrong when they printed this families name and address (which you apparently agree with) and in Licking Co. the courts and the prosecuters office are screwed up. I don't side with anyone - I have and can put myself in both paries shoes and feel that this a a very unfortunate situation that no one will possibly win in the end.

First of all, I think it's absolutely appalling that the media can release a CHILD's name before he has been found guilty of any crime. We're not talking about small children. We're talking about teenage girls. What I am having a hard time understanding is that, according to the timeline, at least ONE of those girls kept going BACK to his house to see him on several occasions. Why would any girl do that if she was not a consenting participant? Think about it...If the sheriff showed up at your door wanting to question your teenage daughter about an investigation involving alleged sexual activity with a boy, do you think she's going to stand there in front of you and admit that it was consentual? Probably not. I have watched girls follow this boy around like puppies at school events and community events for the last few years. Obviously I, along with you, do not know all the details. All I can say is that if he truly forced himself on these girls, he should be punished. If these girls were willing participants, he should not. Cody is from a good family, and I truly hope that if he is guilty, he receives the punishment and help he needs, and if he is not, I hope these girls are prosecuted for what they have put that family through.

OK DA, I only said it is not what it means to me. Let me explain - when I hear the word kidnap - I don't think of sitting on a school bus, I think of throwing a sack over someones head and forcing them into a car/van, where I hold them against their will until I decide to let them go....not until their stop comes and the bus driver opens the door......

It doesn't matter how someone dresses or even if they've had sex with this boy before. If they say no, even after having sex with him other multiple times, then that means NO!!!!!!!!!! If he forces himself on them anyway then that's called RAPE!!!!!! It's been proven that rapists can't be rehabilitated and if he's found guilty of these horrible crimes he should be sentenced as an adult. After that he should be chemically castrated. I really feel sorry for your daughter. God forbid something happen to her you'll probably just say she was asking for it by what she wore and how she acted!
