Bad Dispatch for reporting name and address of this juvenile. Guilty or not, the kid is only 15 years old. This is irresponsible journalism at its worst.

I love it when people say this is a nice kid and a good athlete. Who cares - if he did what they say he did, then he is not a nice kid and I don't blame the judge for not letting him go. These girls must be scared and it would obviously be difficult for them to see him in school after all this. He is nothing but a bully and when you have children like this, you also have to look at the parents because something must be going on at home for him to be like that!

With this many girls coming forward ... it is hard to believe they would be lying. If this is true I hope he does not have any more victims by letting him stay out. As for the bad reporting ... I don't believe they should have told his name. Unless the name had already been released. As for where this all happened at, I think they should say just so young girls can keep there eyes open.

The Watkins football coach who wrote the letter praising Cody Johnson's character should be fired. He has no business in his capacity as a high-school coach writing such letters. (Or perhaps as an alternative, if the coach has a daughter, perhaps his daughter should spend a night with Cody as a testimony to his being so exemplary.)

Interesting that WBNS-TV (Dispatched owned) chose to not report the kids name. Shame on The Dispatch. Charged does not mean guilty. Aren't juvenile records supposed to be sealed? If he is innocent, this kids life is ruined because of the publicity.

I think everyone should look at the larger picture here, look at how parents allow their daughters to dress and act...pre-teens and teens looking more like 27, buying their kids short-short designed to let the ends of pockets show because they flaunt how tiny they are. You let your daughter express her sexuality and then are outraged when she engages in sexual activity. You think none of these girls threw themselves at high school football player? I think before YOU ALL start judging someone you should wait until the FACTS are public. Looks at how many young girls claim rape and the charges are dropped? INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY why don't you look at yourself before judging a person and a family you do not know. If you believe everything you read before getting educated on the entire situation (which none of us know...this came out yesterday) then you have no right to comment on ANY current issue. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Blame the Victims, r u serious. You are obviously not a victim, nor have you ever been. Do you live in the community where this happened? Most of the time women are scared to come forward for fear of retalliation. How dare you say something so stupid and inconsiderate. I can't believe there are ppl out there like you.

Whether or not a girl wears revealing clothes, there is no excuse for an assault by another person.

Are any of the bloodthirsty mouthbreathers on here familiar with the concept of "innocent until proven guilty?" That was a rhetorical question. The kid could be innocent or guilty, but it's for a court to decide, not the Dispatch.

@Just Me I will bet you dollars to donuts that you would feel stupid as a dairy cow were you to have godlike access to read all of the text messages these young ladies have sent out to 1/2 of the school after said events. They refuse to come forward and yet treat these criminal acts as if they were more fodder for gossip. WAKE UP. PS I am not saying the victims here should be punished in any way but they SHOULD be educated that not coming forward early leads to more crimes being commited in total.

Micky- My daughter gets in trouble and is reprimanded for what she does, just as I did, just as I'm sure you did. She could end up flirting, taking it too far and regretting it afterword. Believe me I don't have blinders on to the world. What I disagree with is comments about what should happen to this young man before the facts come out...before these girls tell their "stories". The first people have heard of this was yesterday...and I am sure that if the charges are dropped the people making dog and johnson comments will still feel he's guilty even if some girls taking flirting to the next level were mad they didn't get everything they wanted. How many of these girls are the 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 (which ever the new number is) that are taking nude pictures of themselves and texting them to any boy they want attention from. There is no excuse for assault Micky, but has anyone been convicted of assault? Has anyone heard testimony? I think the people commenting on here need to get off their high horse and take a look at what their own kids may be doing and wait until proof comes out. That's why there are trials...so everything can be presented and not to judge on the first comment you hear.

They should get privacy and have their information held from the prying eyes of the Dispatch. Otherwise, where do you stop? a 5-year old arrested for rape (because he patted someone on the but)? an 8 year charged with criminal mischief because he messed up his brothers room? a 13 year old girl with child porn because she took a picture of herself in bikini???

Yes, I agree Blame the Victims. We do need to educate our children on this matter. But in the future please be a little more considerate. I'm sure, as many others out there, that the 1st victim does blame herself, even though it is NOT her fault. I don't think anyone in her position should be told or even have the thought of blaming her in their head. She is going through enough I'm sure.
