Recently Mitt Romney stated that he would impliment policy that would allow people to buy "Affordable" Health care coverage. What is meant by the term 'Affordable'?

Let's not look to Romney's answer of a maybe tomorrow when we can answer the question with obama's policies today: Depends upon the color of your skin, the number of illigitimate babies you've spawned or delivered, the number of riotous bullhorn invasions you've participated in, and most importantly...the greatest number of times you've voted democrat in any single election.

Oh my! Well shut ma mouth, I do declare! It's news to me that in a country of 300mil + people, that the color of "Skin" determines affordability of paying an Insurance Premium? Are you sure this is 2012, or is it that your brain is stuck in 1963. I'm not a dyed in the wool liberal , nor can I trust every Republican who makes a pledge to lower my taxes. For 8 years GOP law makers had "total" control of Congress and the White House, and they did NOTHING to fix Health Care options. Now, oh please give us another chance to screw up the country with failed policies. My Health premiums increased under Bush, and they've increased under Obama!$350 bi-weekly for me alone! For a family of 3....$1000bi-weekly and no underlying health issues. Go free market go, right? I want gas to go up to $10.00 a gallon,, and just maybe you Republican Free market types will rally and complain about something important instead of fighting for Corporations to keep Jacking prices up on goods and services. And before you go here... Supply and demand is not what drives the price, GREED is.

Greed is good.

Insurance should be for catastrophic things, not check ups, flu shots, Zit cremes for teenagers, Birth control etc.
You don't expect your home owners insurance to paint your house and clean your down spouts, mow the lawn etc do you?

People who don't understand how to accumulate money, have never run a business, don't understand how all that works. They are LEECHES who think someone else should get stuck paying their bills.

I have never figured insurance of any type to cover routine things. I don't get how people can have such piss poor math skills as to not to be able to figure out that it is cheaper to pay your own basic health items and have insurance only for major issues.

It's like a hotel room. When paying for something in advance, you don't care how high you turn on the A/C. But you do pay attention to what you use from the bar, since you pay for it at checkout. People don't get that.

The middle class dummies of society have everything handed to them. What common sense they used to have has been bred out of them.

I also don't make minor claims on my policy. If a gutter gets blown off, I pay for it myself. They'll just jack your rates and/or drop you anyway.

Yes, minor claims can be paid for out of pocket, but Im talking about Companies like BCBS, who has a monopoly coverage in certain tri-state areas, and jack up premiums because they know you can't do anything about it. Bush and the GOP failed to pass legislation allowing across state access to competition and choice! Do you agree?

Home Insurance, for the most part, will not cover gutters, windows, doors, downspouts, general maintenance, ect. The midddle class are breeding children/teens, who can't change a flat tire on a bike, let alone climb a ladder to clean or repair a gutter. There's hardly any "hands on" work ethic being a value in middle America. We have effiminate, soft, clean nail boys, who don't know a spark plug from air filter on a car! Yet, they can stay on mom & daddy's health care until 26years of age! Bullshit! Repeal Obama care, and deregulate across muti-state lines for CHOICE!

Nope, although I loved the All In The Family show, I thought Archie's character could have been written with a little more cognitive amptitude, I must say that I know lots off Archies', but without the Pinko liberal Meathead, that show wouldv'e had one episode.

I think that companies shouldn't be paying for insurance at all. They should just give you that money and let you decide for yourself what you need, rather than being locked into what the company thinks you should have. And hey, it would even eliminate the need for Cobra. Putting 75 million customers in the free market would drive prices down too.

Now we have a Man posting something that will HELP the worker!$700 dollars a month for healthcare premiums would help me tremendously if I could keep that money. I could do better if the $300 per check in taxes they take out also. My employer "Mandates" that ALL employees must carry Their Insurance (unconstitutional).$1000 a month saved, can go for a pretty decent retirement! Job market is tight, and people really don't have the extra cash to start a small business. Banks not lending to start-ups anymore. Voting either party has not saved me any money. Local taxes up, sales tax at 6.75% on goods and services, property taxes, government Fees for having a cell, EVERYTHING is taxed. Sick of it! And we all hope that GOP will save our pockets. What about Local taxes?

These Fools in Congress don't understand basic economics. You can't just give BIG TAX CUTS to large Corporations and leave everyone else at the mercy of the Local Legislators and State Politicians. There has to be a balance of Government power and Corporate Power. If a Government doesn't control a Nation a Corporation will! We don't want EITHER to control this Country. WE THE PEOPLE is the preamble, not We the Corporate Global Shareholders of The New World Order and Politicians who are on the payroll!

If you only have catastrophic, don't plan on going to the ER, especially if they do any tests or want to run a CT, unless you have $2000-$5000 to throw away. Then they'll tell you you're just fine, and laugh you right out the door. Go to urgent care, or wait until you can get into see your GP, both of those are a lot cheaper.

Spooktacular is a lemming who's totally "sold" on the talking points of multi-millionaires like Hannity and Levin. These guys don't even consider health care as an issue, because they are 100% covered with the best that money can buy. Spook obviously don't understand that when Hannity, Levin, El Rushbo speaks, they're not rallying for people who are not in their TAX BRACKET. They could stop working today, and not miss a meal or mortgage payment for the rest of their lives, and their grand childrens lives. These guys got wealth that the average Joe Sixpack can't fathom! It's like comparing an Haitian living in a tent, to a upper class American in a 1.2million dollar Mansion

You're wrong. The current system of paying first, and then getting all your needs taken care of is what's bankrupting the system. Imagine if you could pay for grocery insurance and you were also entitled to all the groceries you wanted, and car insurance included all the gasoline you wanted. Not to mention that you have to hire an entire clerical staff at $40,000+ a year to shuffle paper ... i.e. pay your bills for you - something you are willing to do for free.

The problem with health care is that it basically runs counter to economics and human nature. Like I said, go back to the hotel example - you pay for the room before you consume, you crank the AC as high as it will go. You don't pay for the bar until after you consume, you tend to watch what you take out of the bar.

if your auto insurance included free gasoline, not only would you not care about pricing out various gas stations, but you would also have to hire a staff to administer gasoline pricing, and free gasoline would distort the market, causing people to drive instead of fly or take other modes of transportation, not to mention the $40,000 a year paid staff to make payments from your insurance plan.

I know because I am one of those people. If something is free, I take as much of it as I can and it doesn't take too many people like m before the system gets unsustainable.

This is the problem with health care in a nutshell.

Spook is right - major medical should be covered. If you need birth control, pay for it yourself or keep your legs together. It's not that hard. People who pay for things out of their own pockets are forced to make decisions like these all the time.

If you cut off your cell phone with 4G, you are $1200 toward your cat scan. If you cut off the cable TV and internet, you get up to $2500. But you don't want to sacrifice anything so long as you are allowed to confiscate money from others.

And let's not forget the fact that when people are forced to pay for things out of their own pockets, market forces tend to drive prices down.

But you middle class dummies can't even fathom that. You're helpless to do anything on your own and you think everything should be on someone else's dime.
