Tea party suffers blow

Jun 30, 2012 Full story: Port Clinton News Herald 1,842

At this time of the year, I do a lot of reflecting on my father and on my own blessings in the role... COLUMBUS -- Ohio's conservatives have lots of ideas on what to do with health care, and they're in agreement: The Affordable Care Act was not the way to go.

A victory for the middle class! The greedy well of bastards will just have to pay up, and shut up!!
About 43% of Americans are insured by their employers (This is actually much of the middle class)

Only 13% are uninsured in America.

All Obamacare is going to do is help those 13% while going against the 43% who are insured by their employers.

Who this 43% who are insured by their employers will pay taxes for a lower quality healthcare.

Who else wins out? The top 1% who will no longer have to pay insurance to their employees.

So actually we are going against 43%(Much of the Middle class)

In favor of the top 1% & the bottom 13% who can't afford insurance.(Who many are actually young people BTW who don't even need insurance generally)

So yeah I think you mean victory for the top & bottom as always.

Which is the same agenda the U.S has been doing for about half a century.
As it has given welfare to the poor, corporations & now banks.

"Hold it Mitt Romney.'Trust you on jobs?' Remember it was Romney's firm that bought an Indiana paper company. They cut workers' wages, slashed health benefits, eliminated their retirement plan, and instituted a 12-hour work day. "Romney said, quote,'This is not fantasy land. This is the real world.' And now Romney wants us to trust him with our jobs and our economy?"

The Romney story is never the same-he has been all over the place with his campaigns

OK. Since nobody is interested in the Tea Party anyway:

1. Why are socialized services inherently bad? If the government can negotiate for better prices on drugs, etc. and eliminate the insurance middlemen, why won't that help?

2. Why aren't we taxing imports from countries that pollute, contribute to unfair work practices and engage in politically undesirable activities?

3. Why aren't we policing our politicians for taking money from corporations? Why do we keep treating corporations like individuals with "rights" to meddle in politics?

Same old dog and pony show. Everyone gets involved in politics for the money. They can't imagine honest government because they don't WANT honest government. Nobody is interested in what is good for the country.

You narrowly define the Tea Party. Many are young families who dont' think their kids are losers who need the ham fist of a Big Bro Bureaucracy to rob their of personal freedoms and dumb down innovation. Most who demonize the Tea Party are those who want to do as little as possible and have Big Bro sqeeze every one else for as much of their neighbors hard earned money as possible.

Can you explain to us how this would create a Soviet style future for America? Just curious.

I'm not sure I understand this. I go to work everyday. I pay my taxes. I own my home. I raised a family. I do not feel the government is robbing me of personal freedom.

Do you know what I think IS robbing me of my personal freedom? Big business. Corporatism. The control that it has over our government and the country. My government doesn't tell me what to do or not to do, unless it's to appease some high-paid lobbyist for a corporation that wants to control what I eat, whether or not I smoke, how I drive my car, how I live, what I buy and on and on.

Of course no one would demonize big business. They'd rather hate on the government than take a look at what's really controlling them in this country. If you feel like the government is causing you to lose personal freedoms, you can best believe there's some corporate entity behind it.

I'm not saying you're stupid. I'm just saying you've got bad luck when it comes to thinking...
-
Government can force you too pay up... Corporations can force you too sellout and not buy nothing...
-
Government can lock you up and forever get bigger... Corporations are smaller, can't lock you up, corporations can get smaller and go out of business...

The TEA PARTY's inital introduction was after President Obama basically told the Repub Partyafter the election "You lost, get over it"! A NBC employee that worked the Chicago Board and Trade mouthed something and it began.,,,,The original soiel of the party...MORE FREEDOM, LESS TAXES, STOP THE WARS! The TEA PARTY was somewhat disorganized as they were irate voters who were not listened to by their own Repub Party for a couple of years. The progressives elected actually thought there was a mandate for them. A small window opened up for FREEDOM.But it was quickly closed as Dick Armey and the boys showed up with some stupid organization called FREEDOM WORKS and Sarah Palin did with A Rothschild wife to take over the fledgling group that was actually trying to restore freedom. In 2010, the Repubs gained big time. The FREEDOM WORKS infection fooled us all as the movement to a police state of tyranny has continued. We voted in some traitors that were part of the infection and most likely will never have a chance at real freedom again. Yet in specific cases, there are some who are voted in who believe in freedom. But not enough. Sorry if I am downcast. But this is the truth. Wars will continue. Evil will reign and we will back it saying it is right while our own backyard disintigrates. Liars from all sides have condemned us. May some have the strength to pull together to form groups of sovereign freedom. Maybe small areas of autonomous freedom will develop where men cab have pride again. And I need a refresher course also. To those with courage..SEMPER FI...THE DOMESTIC COURAGE!
