Those 2 animals from Americans for Prosperity need to be exposed and held up for the public scorn they deserve.
Somebody in Columbus has to know their names -> anyone?

Columbus Reader from Westerville: I pray to God that you will never have the misfortune of getting Parkinson's or of having a close friend or family member who is stricken. Your comments stink of the same ignorance and arrogance that those 2 animals at the rally displayed. God help you.

I don't see the issue. If the guy is at a protest and confronts the opposition, things can happen. I've been at protests where the liberal opposition has said or done impolite things in the heat of the moment - it comes with the territory in a democracy. I guess some people do not like the heat - maybe they should stay home and get their opinion told to them by the State Media.
The guy is already getting free medical care, so I don't see how his plight is an indication that the horrible Obama plan should be passed. It is a typical radical socialist tactic straight out of the Obama/Chavez book.
I'd love to move to Texas - may do that before the entire federal government collapses into bankruptcy. This Obama bill on speeds up that inevitable event.

I don't think that the folks taunting him are much interested in dialogue, which involves listening--without shouting. The folks against have organized around shouting down any opposition. It is sad to see the level of polarization because at base, when reform is broken down into componenet parts, there is really a good bit of common ground. The folks who believe that someone with Parkinsons is just looking for a hand-out (and the guy throwing money), are really deluded and, I hope, quite rare. It is wasteful to continue on as we have--a disease or condition or demographic at a time deciding who warrants assistance, and who is just a free-loader. I have two children who have or are about to age out of our family plan. One has a condition that will warrant some public health care support--which is fortunate because it is very costly and this kid won't be ready for a job that provides insurance for quite some time, if ever. The other kid--far more normal, working through school, too old for the student exemption on my family coverage--could get hit by a truck tomorrow and ruin all of the family finances. What we keep missing is the real money behind the resistance. It isn't hard-working folks who have done all that they can to take care of themselves and their families. It is an enormous insurance structure that makes money betting on the health of consumers--and protecting that profit by doing all that they can to eliminate the unhealthy folks who will cost them money. this is concise and dead on. the people fighting this the hardest just aren't thinking this through.

Mr. Letcher -- I would like to apologize to you on behalf of all of us who sincerely oppose this bill for good reasons and who understand that we must be able to debate public issues in a civil fashion. I was embarrassed to watch this sad episode. Regardless of whatever action Congress may take, I wish you well in dealing with your situation. May God bless you.

Nobody on the protest side claims to know them, so they didn't arrive with the large protester group. I say they were planted by the Democrats to gain sympathy for the bill. Paranoia as the 1st sign of surrender 1st Boehner admits republicans can't stop it, Then McConnell says Boehner is where they will try to stop it, All the while none of these poor fools got the memo to put a fork in it. Carpet Bag in one hand and Bible in the other, And They Want To "try" to run this country again in our life times ?? Last time republicans melted down the entire American economy that took 40 years, And we are just 1 year into this recovery. They put a whole new meaning to "stuck on stupid"

So where were you for 8 years of King George? Did Glenn Beck write that for you?

Congratulations Columbus. You again managed to embarrass a fine city in the eyes of the nation and the world. How would you feel if you couldn't afford medical treatment? You have yours paid for by your employers and take it for granted. Maybe the real solution is to have no employer paid insurance and make everyone pay for their own. Then who will do the crying?

totellthetruth wrote: We would have never read anything about this guy if had been against the bill. With his background and he ended up on Medicaid he must have made some bad choices in his life. "Bad choices"? Like getting Parkinson's Disease? I know this man. He worked as long as he could. His Parkinson's makes it hard for him to speak. There are not a whole lot of jobs you can do when you have speech problems. Also, Parkinson's causes tremors and problems with balance and overall control of one's physical movements. Before his surgery Bob was feeling all of these effects and gradually became unable to work any sort of conventional job. Now he has regained his ability to type at a computer, and makes use of his still-sharp mind by doing a lot of writing. Re: "We would have never read anything about this guy if he had been against the bill" - if he was against the bill and rallying with the anti-reformists, he wouldn't have made the news because pro-reformists wouldn't have behaved like buffoons and thrown dollar bills at him. It's bad enough that these teapartiers engaged in this cruel, idiotic behavior to begin with. You folks are just digging your hole deeper with comments like this.

He probably couldn't pick up the bills, they should have been more respectful and handed them to him. Much like we do with all the income transfers they hand-out every first of the month.
I hope the paper does a follow-up story on this guy in five years and asks him if his healthcare is better or worse then today. It would seem his care situation is pretty good right now.

Kinda funny that those two morons yelling at the man with Parkinson's couldn't even carry his jockstrap - intellectually speaking. He's a nuclear engineer and they're buffoons.
And to those two morons I say: stop hiding behind your Mommie's skirts -> be proud of your actions -> IDENTIFY YOURSELVES! Take credit for your proud defense of "liberty" and your stance against "communism"!
