He "worked as a community organizer"? That's reason enough to berate him. Just because he has a disability does not excuse his horrid political views. Is he also a follower of Saul Alinsky?

Now I know why many of our children are growing up insensitive to others.
It is hypocritical to see the conservatives cry out against taking "God" out of our pledge and on our buildings; but not to rally for Christian values--like treating others the way we want to be treated!!
Well, it clearly shows those bullying demonstrators have no compassion or love for a suffering human being and are only concerned about "their" money. All Christians know that EVERYTHING they have is our Lord's. It is disgusting to see how horribly these people were trying to humiliate a person, Mr. Letcher, who is more Christ-like than they will ever know. Ignorance is NOT bliss; and those demonstrators have brought their ignorance into this healthcare debate.

We would have never read anything about this guy if had been against the bill.
With his background and he ended up on Medicaid he must have made some bad choices in his life.

How about we figure out who they are from the video, then have the dispatch interview them, and expose them for the people they truly are. Bet their mommas are so proud!

You hit the nail on the head. Isn't strange that the news people were able to get Mr Letcher's name but not the two pinheads that berated him? Even if I were there opposing the bill I would have had to walk away due to embarrassment from the actions of these two idiots. I am not sure this bill is the solution but something needs to be done. The people at the rally who oppose any change probably have enough money they can turn a blind eye to what is happening. They better be careful what goes around comes around. You never can be sure where you will be down the road and health coverage may not always be there.

These conservatives hide behind Christian values, but sometimes the mask comes off! They must be so proud.

ohhhh you are such a tool. SO, working with your community to make it a better place is bad, and acting like a complete ass to a disabled person is good. i'll wait for this evening after fox news is over to get your response.

I don't recognize them, but I might know someone who does, I am twittering and otherwise contacting all of my friends with a request to find out who they are and out them. If everyone does this, we'll figure out who they are and then they can explain themselves.

Mary Jo has been looking for reasons to vote against the majority of her constieunts and toe the line and she got one. She will vote for this bill and as a result lose in November. Stivers should send her a thank you letter.

You tell 'em Grace. He falls right in there with other evil community organizers like Sam Adams, John Adams, James Otis, Thomas Paine, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and others of their ilk. The nerve of these people, trying to generate community support for causes in which they believe. People like these need to be silenced.

Is it that difficult for you to understand that with the current state of medical costs, ANYONE could be one illness away from bankruptcy? That includes you, unless you're extremely wealthy. Your comment is not only mean-spirited, but very stupid.

Hmmm, he's highly educated, had a great job, worked his way through life paying taxes, insurances, ect. then became crippled by a debilitating disease that his life long insurance premiums obviously won't cover. Seems like his only bad decision was thinking idiots like you would open up your hearts and dust off your tiny little brains to listen to his story.

How do we know that the 2 guys that were attacking this poor guy weren't planted to cause this uproar? Nobody on the protest side claims to know them, so they didn't arrive with the large protester group.

I say they were planted by the Democrats to gain sympathy for the bill.

And can you tell us how this legislation reduces the cost of health for the average American?

What was done to him is wrong! But it sounds like the current system has worked for him. He had a job. He paid into the current system and is receiving Medicaid assistance for a debilitating disease when he needs it. How does the new legislation help him out anymore? This bill is more about creating more government jobs for the President and not about health insurance reform.

Angry white men, obviously well off and not at all willing to help alleviate any one else's plight. Makes me so proud to be an American living through a health care "debate." Makes me want to cordon off a section of the U.S.(maybe Arkansas-Texas-Oklahoma) and open it up to Tea Party immigration. Let them all stew together and hate the rest of us from afar.

I apologize to Mr Letcher, for those two unnamed taunters, whose backbone has failed them, by their own choice.
