Damn, you're making my ass tired trying to figure out what career you'll profess to have done next. My guess the building you constructed was a Port-O-Pot. Nope, I'm not a builder but I was the go between with the architect and the builder. It was about a $4 million project and we even won some awards when it was done. They weren't going to name the building after me, but they asked me if I wanted some recognition and I said no. Not my style.

Without that type of service and skills, you can't have a world class medical center. It's just money without them. It's not just distasteful--it's downright ego stroking and insulting IMHO. But I guess where I was heading: what can be done about it? That's kind of my point. I would have less of a problem if there wasn't a medical center there, and he donated the money to build one. But there is one, it has been there a long time and it has the reputation it has through billions of hours of collective effort from staff, professionals, students and volunteers. Name a building after the guy, that's fine. But not the entire medical center.

Not logging out, here comes Beach Bums opinion. My Grandfather after a life time of dedicated service to the State of Ohio and the Highway Patrol had the honor of having a building named after him posthumously. As a family we were very proud of our grandpa I wonder if the wexners have the same feelings.

Besides, the building was named "after a life time of dedicated service" to the patrol. Since when did the sweat shop owner become a doctor?

I don't blame you, having a "High Rise" building named Enzyte Bob wouldn't sound very lifting.

However, how does the university turn down that type of offer when there are millions of dollars on the hook? I'm not sure it can. The ego stroke for the ultra wealthy. Wright State did the same. Raj Soin School of Business. The Raj and Indu Soin Medical Center (which is connected to WSU and Kettering Medical Network). Boonshoft School of Medicine. Fritz and Delores Russ Engineering Center. It can come back and burn them, though. The names Paterno and Blackwell come to mind.
