Auto makers took the lighters and ashtrays out of their product years ago. Now chimneys carry lighters and throw their butts out the window. Will smokers drive with the windows down year-round or hang their kids out the window for fresh air if this is passed?

It is notable that the author of this piece took pains to make it sound like a partisan issue, pointing out that the sponsor of the bill was a Democrat and then citing two Republicans who were opposed to it. Media spin--in--in--in

Just make tobacco illegal already. Go outside, fine. Can't work here, I'm lukewarm about. Don't smoke in YOUR car, nope. Government wants my tax dollars that I pay on a pack and regulate if I can smoke in my car that I pay for? When are they coming to install a camera in my house so they can make sure I cooked my pork chops to 165 degrees.

as long as people like "big mouth - i'm gonna take all you rights away" Sen. Charleta B. Tavares is an elected official of Ohio she and those like her will take every right the citizens of Ohio have....this is what far to the left liberals do. It's people like her that will make getting laid an enviromental issue, that and anything else she and people like her can think of.

What about the kids' rights?

I'm going to assume that you feed your children no additives, made your own baby food, test your water, use only vinegar and baking soda to clean, the sun is out today, they have sunscreen on and a floppy hat, make them wash their hands singing "Happy Birthday", always go a route that doesn't have a company that has emissions coming from the factory.

Smoke in your car all you like under this proposed law. DON'T make kids breathe the crap. Your position is that no one is going to tell you not to subject children to concentrated life-destroying toxins? Really? You place THAT much importance on sucking in the fumes from burning a bunch of deliberately polluted toxic leaves?

GlitterSucks wrote: Just make tobacco illegal already. Go outside, fine. That I could accept. There are, though, problems that would arise from abruptly cutting off a few score million addicts from their fix, both in terms of the health of those addicts going through withdrawals and in the effect of the behavior of the disproportionately large percentage of those addicts who are also drunks and/or criminals when they find themselves going through withdrawals and blame everyone but themselves and the tobacco industry. Finding a way to neutralize the addiction would open the way for making it illegal, but neutralizing the addiction would remove the market for it anyway and the industry would collapse because people would laugh at the idea of paying for the "right" to do that to themselves.

I am a non smoker. When is a government parasite going to defend my right to have a meal without having to see, smell, and hear someones screaming bags of shit ( some call them infant children). I would rather have the smokers back they were not stressful. Screaming bags of shit cause extreme amounts of stress which is as bad or worse than second hand smoke.

I hate going out to a restaurant with my wife to try and have an enjoyable evening and someone has to bring their infant with them. Some parents are considerate and if the baby gets too fussy and starts crying one of the parents will take the child out of the restaurant. Others not so much. If you want a night out without your child then get a babysitter. Don't ruin my night. If you didn't want to give up Saturday night dates then you shouldn't have brought a life into this world. Don't even get me started on parents letting their army of children run wild in stores. I avoid many supermarkets for this very reason. They run amok like drunken retards! Do some parenting you lazy f@$@sticks!!

we need a law to prevent horseback riders from smoking and another law to make lawmakers do something worthwhile......as for smoking in a car---or seat belts in a car------or alligators and maybe lions in a car-----our lawmakers are so busy thinkin of this kind of crap that they forget why they were even elected......and their post election amnesia concerning spending, road building ,etc is appalling....
