If the women are receiving WIC or food stamps, or free health care, that should be deducted from the support that is paid. The baby's mama should get a job and work too. I know there are alot of losers who don't pay or who work under the table so they don't have to pay, but ladies don't depend on the guy, do it yourself. Suck it up and put your kids first. And for heavens sake, don't get knocked up again. Its a wicked battle, but both sides need to step up.

Before you put your 2 cents in, you should probably learn to spell!!! You ever think that SOME of these women(Hell, women own child support too..so maybe the men should think about what they are doing with their "manhood")were married to the jerks at that owe the child support to the kids? Why should the woman have to do it herself? Is she the only one that made the baby? Oh and for the record..They deduct the assistance if you get child support just like they would with earned income..and another thing, Ive worked..just because a woman(or man) works doesn't meant that the absent parent doesn't still own the support. That absent parent helped make the child, they should help support the child!

Exactly!!! It takes TWO to tango! Seeing the ex suffer? you have got to be kidding me!!! What about the children? its always about the "poor ex"! So the man gets to have sex with the woman, but he doesn't have to take responsibility? Dont you see something wrong with that? what about the women that are going broke and having to work two jobs in order to support their children because the ex wont help? The women give birth to the children so I guess that means that the women have to take full responsibility and are expected to do it on their own, and the ex just gets off without any responsibility..parenting or financial!
Some women don't need the child support from the ex in order to support the children..its just the principle of it...the absent parent should be taking financial responsibility as well!

$12k for missed child support and making it into the Top Wanted list is strange when you know there are a lot of guys out there owing way, way more money....

I think media want to scare the "small criminal" people so they turn their lives around.
In past they got the big fish,....now it's the little one they are more after than the big it seems.

The other parent should be there to help RAISE the child, not just support the child. Somehow, that word has disappeared in these scenarios.

See my previous post. Neither parent should be forced in to poverty because they have to maintain the lifestyle their ex is accustomed to. Shared parenting, 50 / 50 all the way. If people could get over their own ego and focus on what is best for the child, we wouldn't even need a child support system.

completely agree. you always here about deadbeat fathers, but what about deadbeat mothers. I have known women who put their kids off on living with the father, or other relatives, because all they cared about was going out partying. they didn't contribute to the child at all. it's always a big deal about fathers paying child support, but if the father has custody, it's not considered a big deal if the mother pays or not. and most mothers use the money for their own personal use, like going shopping than using the money for the child's needs.

FYI. There is no such thing as child support. It's called 'Mommy' support or vice versa. The whole child support system needs to be disbanded and parents should be forced to raise their kids by spliting their time 50/50 and use whatever earnings they have on the kids they bring into this world. FYI - my kids live with their Dad at least 50% of the time and they are doing great. I don't want his money because what he gives my kids is worth so much more. Keep the Dad's in the kids lives. They do so much better...

Hey. If you owe support, you can have it set to 0 if you file a joint agreement with the other parent in the common pleas court in your town. Parents should not be so greedy and work out their own financial arrangements outside of court.

I agreed to not go through Child Support so my child's father and I could do the 50/50 (I am a reasonable person)HOWEVER so far I do it and pay for it ALL, for one year now. I work full time and do not live beyond my means and it is hard. Children are expensive. Maybe the mother knew the guy would never help or follow through with a promise and filed support in the first place. Or she knew he would have to be forced to help. Some guys that is the only reason they will see their children because they are forced to pay for them. Doesn't make her lazy or vengeful. Like the other posts said, it takes 2 to make a baby. It should be 2 that takes care of the baby.

Wow, someone with sense. You should have some kind of license to have children. and, if you don't pay your child support or are proven to be into child breeding for the money, you should be sterilized. Simple as that!
