I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that in spite of the picture of victimhood the parents are trying to portray of their darling, obnoxious little middle school miscreants, there is probably more to this story than is being told in this one-sided, spun version.

I'm going to guess it involves other incidents and a pattern of behavior, and probably a failure to heed previous warnings.

The other passengers on the bus have a right to not be subjected to those antics, plus the driver has enough to do just safely operating the bus without also having to babysit kids who are old enough to learn manners and respect for others.

Of course, there is no incentive to behave themselves and show respect as long as so-called adults are willing to make excuses for them.

I agree, this was likely not an accidental passing of gas. We can all envision what was taking place on that bus. If those kids wanted to get attention then they got it in the form of a suspension and they should get a longer suspension if it continues.

Just tell them to stop farting around. Everyone knows that the greatest skill a 12 year old boy can have is to fart on command.

Their actions are truly obscene. If they can "hold it" until they have a captive audience, they can "hold it" until they do not. As to these defending parents, are they really "parents?" These incidents of my child's mishavior would really bring on severe punishment at home. How dare these parents defend, how dare these boys offend. The best medical advice for excessive gas is to WALK IT OFF. Therefore the correct discipline was set forth, WALK DON'T RIDE.

Just wondered ... do mom & dad still defend him when they are forced to ride in the car with him and the windows are not open due to rain?

Hey LB - if parents don't defend their kids, who will? Where in this article does it say they can hold it until thy have a captive audience? Why don't you try to hold a fart for an hour while getting bounced around on a school bus. I am glad I am not a child in your house, doesn't sound like a heathly environment to raise children, if you even have kids. Wow, a doctor too, passing out medical advice?

If they were my kids, I would request a meeting with the school principal. Then I would eat a hearty bean dinner beforehand, and then fart repeatedly in his general direction.

Wow--it surprises me that anyone could support the parents in this case. Really? According to the parents, they apparently believe that both kids HAD TO do this at the same time? On multiple occasions? After being warned that the behavior would not be tolerated since they clearly made a show about it? Clearly this was intended to show off to friends, but since this is a public school bus and people are forced to be there it reasons that not everyone should be subjected to such a scene. I really can't believe people are that stupid. I support the school system on this one--in fact, they probably should have banned them for a week to send a clear message to their idiot parents.
