November 30th? Great ruin this poor victim's families holiday season. One I might add that she hasn't been able to enjoy since 1984. This scum needed to die way before now. He has had too many years on this planet.

I find this situation unbelievable, An I/O (interosseous) device is painless, quick and simple to use. Used everyday in prehospital and clinical settings with great success. Designed to use when an IV placement is difficult.
Delaying this execution is cruel and unusual punishment for the convict and more so, for the family.

This is astounding! Put his rear in the chair or line him up on a wall and have target practice with him!!! What he is 'going through' is nothing compared to the cruel and unusual punishment he put an innocent little girl through! Heck, if I had access to him, I'd do it myself!!

Gives him more time to get some serious churchin done with da prison chaplain.
I don't understand why we just don't bring back the firing squad. In the Lucasville area there are plenty of skilled Bubba guard deer hunters that could get in some clean effective shots and do it cheap. If Big Luc doesn't have enuf guards that deer hunt git some from Ross or CCI.

They had their chance and couldn't kill him. Free pass now to life in prison.

How about a carbon monoxide chamber? I could be wrong, but I think it is a sure fire method compared to how grotesquely this turned out.

CO chamber. Doesn't the person basically just fall alseep. Lots of people do it in their garages each year, sad to say.

How about we -- oh, I don't know -- show more mercy than he did and allow hiom to live out his sentence in prison?

Avenging his death by killing him doesn't chage a thing, nor will it bring peace and solace to the victim's family. The only thing it will do is bring us down to the same animalistic level that he displayed that day so many years ago.

I say, let him remain in jail for life.

My family, having gone through a situation like this, only it was when the death penality was not being used here in Ohio,(before 1999) I can assure you there is never closure for us. So now we have one piece of scum sitting in Lucasville and another one that the state keeps having to move around because he causes so many problems in prison. Even though these scum bags got life with no chance of parole, let me assure they have a parole hearing every four years no matter what. Do you have a clue what that does to our family every time we show up and have to see these jerks who I might add, laughed about my family member crying and begging to please not kill him while they had him on his knees execution style? These low lifes really showed mercy to my family member. Peace and solice for my family would be to have these animals put out of our misery. I would also like to add, these rejects did all of this for robbing a store for less than one hundred dollars and he happened to be the eye witness as they were leaving. These animals were from our town and knew he seen them and he knew them, so they took him out to a river bank and ended his life quite cruely. I wonder where your compassion is for the families of victims. These scum bags brought this on to themsleves. If they can do the crime then they should be more than willing to do the punishment.

What scriptures are you reading?

Please see Romans 13 verses 3 and 4 which follow:
3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil.

Does the government bearing the sword sound like life in prison? God has ordained that governments have authority to be an avenger.

Here's a suggestion: Have a central venous line inserted ahead of time, then when it is time for the lethal injections, all they have to do is inject through the catheter that is there already!

What the hell? This low life scum sucker should be bashed in the head with a bat. No need for veins. He cried. I am sure noone present could care less. His brother is a piece of crap. Is he an upstanding member of society. He said his brother did not do drugs, how the hell does he know? Did he also know his brother had raped and murdered a 14 yr. old child. And there are no words to say anything printable about his attorney.Maybe bash their heads in also.

OK- this is going to get me lambasted, but I have to opine.
Taking THE 'EMOTIONAL' out of it-removing the whole 'death penalty, is it right or wrong' debate
(and some here can't and won't be able to get past that, I realize-)

IF I was convicted beyond reasonable doubt, and by the law the land it had been decided, I was to die, and I had a choice as to 'how', I would much prefer being presented to a firing squad of trained, certified sharpshooters- two aiming at the brain, two at the heart, and two at the liver.
6 identical weapons, and one weapon has a blank-
no one knows who shoots it so each marksman 'could' have been uninvolved in the act of death.

Would this not be far less 'iffy', far less painful, far more humane, controlled, and expedient?
AND, Far CHEAPER?
I don't understand why lethal injection is deemed a 'better, or more humane way, than this would be, particularly in light of this recent problem.
I'm not being funny, I seriously would like to know.
Marksmen? Health care providers? lawyers?- anyone?

"... I wonder where your compassion is for the families of victims. These scum bags brought this on to themselves. If they can do the crime then they should be more than willing to do the punishment..."

Teri,
my condolences for your loss, and thank you for putting a human face- the victim's survivors' face- on this emotionally-charged debate.
Too often we're willing to see only one polar, self-righteous stance- we either 'scream for blood', or 'demand mercy and compassion'- and each of us can cite the 'chapter and verse' that codifies our opinion, and proves us 'right' in God's eyes.

Not many of us have actually been in YOUR shoes.

It would be wonderful if things were simpler, and 'live and let live', and 'thou shall not kill' worked for humanity, all the away around- but God knows, it's not that way, there are no easy answers.

Maybe someday.

Where do I volunteer for the firing squad? Who NEEDS a usable vein.

I'll even supply my own shooting iron and ammo.

Heck, I'd take VACATION time to rid the world of his ilk.

What about we wake him up every day say around 3:30 Am & just tell him "It's Time!"

After a couple weeks just take him behind the barn & shoot the son-of-a *itch.

Do any of you who call yourself Christian believe in miracles?

Have you ever considered that maybe...just maybe...this is God intervening? That maybe He's trying to teach us that the cruelty of torture and the folly of capital punishment is just...WRONG...?

Maybe He's teaching us that we are NOT our worst sins. That we are ALL sinners. Maybe He's sick of government entities and twisted zealots killing in His name.

Miracles do not happen only to those who you perceive are "good" people.
