Book Review | Late Edition: Memoir recalls heyday of 'C-J'

Full story: Columbus Dispatch

The best newsroom stories -- involving the most distinctive characters and the most vivid memories -- inevitably come from one's first newspaper job, when a fledgling journalist is as impressionable as a blank piece of old gray copy paper.

Felt good to start today out with a CJ story. I feel 30 years younger. The first time I ever won $200 on the lottery, it was the CJ that brought that belated news on Xmas day. The CJ made me a believer in Santa Claus. Good to see Bob Greene is still working.

Hello Nancy,

Enjoyed your review so much. It brought back many happy memories. There was never ever a better newspaper to work for than the Citizen Journal!

Can't wait to read Bob's book.

All the best,

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Leo

There's an erratic quality to the day, thanks to the Full Moon in emotional Cancer, combined with a lunar eclipse. Loved ones are likely to behave in ways you hadn't counted on. The only way to cope with this is to be as flexible as possible. Someone might change an arrangement at the eleventh hour so you have to think on your feet, or others may be determined to do their own thing even though it doesn't suit you. Get any arguments out of the way quickly so you can enjoy your New Year's Eve celebrations with a glad heart.
