Sorry. I see this as WAY over the top. It's not like he offed his kids or anything. Sorry, they were dogs. Not everyone holds them in such great reverence. Also keep in mind the skew on this story. After all, the guy flipped of the press...
Dogs have a very likeable friendly personality. The ONLY time they dont is when they have been mistreated by human scum as in this so called man. I believe most well adjusted people admire dogs and hold their lives in much regard. If you dont then something is wrong with you or your upbringing. Dogs have provided some outstanding services to mankind through out the years and are no doubt mans best friend. We actually have much more to fear from ourselves than we ever will the wholesome k-9.

Thankyou, I believe most people feel as I do. Only those who dont are taking the great contributions dogs have made in our society for granted or just lack the brains to remember or understand them altogether. The one poster who I am still in amazement over is the one who claimed dogs have no feelings and dont feel pain.I dont know where this guy has been all his life but I have never read anything that rediculous before. To believe that human beings are the be all to end all is not only ignorant but extremely arrogant as well. There are other worthwhile living beings on this planet and the K9 is one of them.

Responding to the guy who said dogs have no feelings or can't feel pain??..wow what a wacko.2 yrs ago I was out feeding my dog and I noticed this little beagle sitting out in the field watching me..I tried to get her to come to me but everytime i would step towards her she would run..I would set a bowl of food out and leave..She would come in and eat it and run off..I kept this up for a mth or so and one morning i came out and lo and behold she was lying on the pavement behind my truck..she finally let me touch her..my nieghbor saw her and said he had been shooting at her for eating his cat food...she had been left in a house he said for 17days..later that summer she had litter of pups and the nieghbor lady and her daughter went to see them and she would not let them near them..I went down and she met me at the truck and was waggingher tail like come see what I got..I went out and picked them up and praised her and she has been my buddy ever since..now don't tell me dogs don't have feelings..

What did I spell wrong? Perhaps you should learn to spell. A typo does not indicate lack of education. I should be ashamed to live in a country where my rights (that I fight for) are being stripped by liberal retards like yourself.
Kathryn Kimbrough wrote:
Yo ASHAMED - LEARN TO SPELL....and to make an intelligent point - please. You SHOULD be ashamed. The educational system obviously failed you in some respects. I'm grateful you served our country. Now let me just say this is not just a story - it was two canines who did nothing more than serve and love their master - who brutally killed them.

Actually there is an excuse for shooting a dog eleven times. HE RAN OUT OF BULLETS. Get a life.
Kathryn Kimbrough wrote:
Hey "Outsider who knows" - enlighten us if we're so wrong. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR SHOOTING YOUR DOGS ELEVEN TIMES! There is the humane shelter who would have taken them back. THERE WERE OPTIONS. Unless you tell me he's a slobbering fool with an IQ of 10, I WILL JUDGE. HE WAS JUDGE, JURY AND EXECUTIONER to his companion animals. I know (having worked at the humane shelter, that you sign a pledge to return the animals if they don't work out. The guy is a heartless thug. He proved it in his actions and in his total disregard for the gravity of his actions - and even flipping off reporters. HE IS A POOR EXCUSE for a living creature.

Once again the spelling PETA nazi strikes again. Looks like the semi hit you too hard. Who cares if the guy spells wimps, as whimps? I am sure you have your own hangups, so, once again, get a life. You yourself need a valid point. Dogs are stupid animals that were bred by man for our purposes. Once their purpose is outlived, it's none of YOUR business what happens to the animal. You and the rest of America needs to take a look inward and quit judging others.
Kathryn Kimbrough wrote:
Hey Black Prince - I am IN flyover country and I own my own business. I also think this firefighter should be shot himself. You are judging things that are not actually in evidence. I have taken many risks. I was hit by a semi at 43 and went back to school and became a nurse despite all odds. I also own my own business. AND I have time to do animal rescue work and care if some THUG blasts away at dogs who loved/trusted him with 11 shots. Put that in your pipe, fella, and find some humanity. Oh and find a spelling primer, would you? It's spelled W-I-M-P-S.

I'm sorry, but this man is a sadist, and the next time we read about him, it will be after he tortures and kills a person. When the judge in this case runs for re-election, don't vote for him, lobby against him, and remind other people about his poor judgement. Please pressure the fire department to terminate this man's employment. There must be some type of regulation or code of ethics that this evil person is in violation of, that disqualifies him now as a public servant. Think about it, would you want this man in your house under any type of circumstances?

An outsider who knows wrote:
50 % of this story is not true. They didn't even get the dogs names right! And, there is another half to the story that no one is even aware of. It is not your job to judge people. God will do that and he will be condemned accordingly.
Yes, it's God's job to doing the judging regarding the disposition of our souls. However, we are charged with rebuking an evil person, and what people are doing here is rebuking this man for the evil he did.

Dear Ashamed, first I'm not a liberal, not even a little bit. In fact, I'm a dyed in the wool conservative, who also happens to be a card-carrying member of the NRA. And I recognize that what this person did was for no other reason than to gratify some type of depravity.

Really, way over the top? Do a little research on how all the famous serial killers got their start... it begins with animal curelty.

Never said you were a liberal. I don't even know you. I Like the NRA card you threw in there <wink>. Like it has anything to do with the topic. So now we are pre-screening for serial killers? Sounds like a modern day witch hunt to me. "Oh look, this guy did something questionable" let's throw caution to the wind and label everyone serial killers. I mean, everyone has had to do something like them at one point in their lives. Did Manson drive a car, oh wait, you do too... OMG you are a serial killer... AHHHH.
THE GUY SHOT HIS DOGS... Oh wait, AND HE FLIPPED OFF A REPORTER... Quick, get a rope, this guy's going down.
Ok, maybe if he skinned his dogs alive, or superglued their eyes shut or something else, maybe I might say he is disturbed. Just killing them? Armageddon won't come soon enough to wash the earth of all you judging hypocrites. Have fun losers.

Dogs don't have human feelings, you dolt. We (humans) place our emotions along with everything else human on animals. We say, look, they love us, etc. How the heck do you know? DOGS ARE NOT PEOPLE. ANIMALS ARE NOT PEOPLE. They do feel pain, that is why the firefighter shot his dogs 11 times, instead of once to the liver. A quick and painless death.

Actually his dogs don't have much of a personality now. Death seems to remove much personality from alive things. So "kathy" how did this guy abuse his dogs and turn them into bad dogs? You know this HOW? Yes, dogs have many uses, including sweet and sour chicken. All of you dog lovers out there, love your dogs because you have humanized them. You have placed superimportance on minor details. The only dogs that are worth anything are those which are wild and untouched by all of your bleeding hearts. Like wolves and the like.

Actually you fascist, while we're at it, why don't we make everyone take classes on conception and take a test before having kids? Or get married, or buy a house, or do anything else in this country? I will tell you why, because it violates our freedoms. So does prosecuting a man who put his own animals down. Perhaps if the dogs had asked nicely, he would have just let them go. Maybe they were ruining his relationship because the girlfriend didn't like them.
Gina wrote:

Animals should NOT be considered property or material objects! They are a blessing! They DO have a soul and they ABSOLUTELY DO feel pain! ANYBODY that wants a pet should have to PAY A FEE AND TAKE CLASSES BEFORE they are even allowed the PRIVILEGE of a pet! Since the almighty dollar is the ONLY thing most "HUMANS" understand, charging a fee for the PRIVILEGE of having a pet would certainly curb the amount of losers like this guy even acquiring an animal!
