#RomneyRyan Ohio: Shout It Out Loud!
Posted on | August 12, 2012 | 10 Comments and 28 Reactions

“These are the biggest crowds, some of the biggest enthusiasm that we’ve seen at Romney campaign events ... This is as loud as I have heard a Romney campaign rally ... This crowd is fired up. This campaign is fired up right now.”

– Jim Acosta, CNN, Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012

Are Republicans in Ohio ready for Mitt Romney’s tour of the Buckeye State? I just got the campaign schedule for Tuesday:

12:30 p.m. ET: American Energy Corporation
43521 Mayhugh Road
Beallsville, Ohio

3:30 p.m. ET: Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl
532 Mcintire Avenue
Zanesville, Ohio

7:00 p.m. ET: Ross County Court House
2 North Paint Street
Chillicothe, Ohio

My wife’s family lives in Ohio, so I’m rattling the tip jar collecting Shoe Leather Fund contributions for this road trip — and I’m excited. As Professor Paul Rahe says of the choice of Pau Ryan as Romney’s running mate:

This will alter radically the dynamics of the race. The money spent by Obama trying to demonize Governor Romney will prove to be money entirely wasted. The election is not going to be about Mitt Romney.... It is not going to be about Bain Capital. It is going to be about the failed policies of Barack Obama, about their dangerous character, and about the sober, sound alternative the Republicans represent.

After seeing the massive crowds Saturday in Manassas, Virginia, I’m hoping Republicans in Ohio will turn out the same way. Remember this photo that Susan Ferrechio of the Washington Examiner took from the press bus arriving in Manassas:

Can the Ohio GOP match that? Can they turn out thousands of people to give Mitt Romney a rock-star welcome in the Buckeye State? The Lonely Conservative has this headline:
Romney and Ryan Drawing
Massive Crowds in Swing States

There is no swing state more important than Ohio.

The liberal media can spin and lie and misrespresent all they want, but if thousands of people show up for these rallies — c’mon, Ohio Republicans!— that will send a message they can’t miss.

Walk into any certain big box store and tell me the demographics are still apple pie & mom, respect for others and their property. If you can find me that, I'll reconsider. I think Ohio will (barely) go blue. Then again, anything can happen between now and Election Day so who really knows?

Yes unfortunately I think there is enough union support and union cash that Ohio will barely go blue. Although I don't understand why. The coal industry is still a huge employer of great middle class working jobs and yet Obama has made no attempt to hide his agenda of destroying the coal industry. What do Ohioans think will happen to the economy in Ohio without coal and without AEP?

We have over regulated ourself to slaves of fantasy.

even our trade policy is a joke.

govt has f.cked up everything it touched.

can't even work within budget to deliver mail.

sealing up our boarders with solders that are deployed; and impose a flat tax so all men are taxed equal.

make corporate tax 10% with loopholes only provided at the state level.

educate society.

current education system is so broke, if it were a car, it would be rolled in a ditch.

safty nets are for emergencies; and retirement takes planning.

yes we need to have a retirement plan that everybody pays into.

yes I think that the money collected for say social security should be invested 50% a total AMERICAN stock market fund; and 50% bonds.

where we have been duped, is that if we lower income tax we only strangle spending by govt; but if we raise social security contribution level to 500K from current 100K, we put money in our future.

if earnings exceed 5 million, then number moves to a million.
PS....that is an increase of $140,000 over current rate.

our future.

exceeding 15% tax on income to the federal govt is ignorant for we the people.

15% social security....plus 15% federal income tax......plus 7% state tax......plus 2.5% city tax.....plus medicare 1.5%

40%....working till April 15th, only pay taxes.

you can keep the rest so we can tax it again......when you spend it.

sales tax, gas tax, cig tax, booze tax, dog license, hunt & fish license, car license, boat license, bike license, utility bills,

I would not show up for Bevis and Butthead of the Republican party even if their stupid rally was across the street from me. I would play James Brown music as loud as possible to drown their stupidity out!
