This is a young girl exploring her sexuality with a man who should have known better. Many 13 year old girls are mature enough physically to have sex. Whether or not they are mature enough mentally is another question entirely. Again, he should have known better and should not have gotten involved with someone so young. So he will do the time.
However, the "witch hunt mentality" that is being displayed on this forum just shows how screwed up our nation has become. I'm not saying what this guy did deserves no punishment. But the world is not black and white. This girl is likely sexually mature enough to know what sex is, want it, and potentially reproduce. Yet the puritanical masses will have you believe that she is just a child that doesn't know any better and is being preyed upon by some sick pervert who deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail.
I have an 11 year old daughter. And it makes me sick to think that in a couple of years she will be a woman. But I'm not so naive as to believe that she won't be thinking about sex. Which brings me to my final point... where were the parents during all of this? You are the problem with America.

This is just plain and simple gross and perverted. everyone can have a second chance in life and mr.c will get that after he gets what he deserves which is jail time for 5 years. im pretty sure that will be enough for him to realize what he did, i mean his life is over anyway once he will get out of prison, so if he learns while he's in there, then he should get a second chance. nothing that he has done is right, and the fact that hes 30 and the girl is 13 is just sick. I do agree that the girl is mentally old enough to understand what she was doing, and that was also wrong, but plain and simple, mr.c is a teacher and a coach for a school and a community, dont let your private parts get in the way, it ruined your life and your career that this guy went to college for, just sooo sad..good luck jail boy!

Personally I think some of this should come back on the parents.....yes I said parents of the girl! She is obviously lacking some kind of attention that she needs to get it from an adult male and yes I agree she knew what she was doing. He was not right in wanting a "relationship" with a young girl but there's something way more wrong there with her also!
Some time we need to start holding these girls responsible also, no it wasn't molesting, or rape -not when she was old enough to know what it is and what she wants - 13 year olds are way more advanced than when we were kids - somewhere it starts with the parents and what they allow at such a young age:(
