Anyhow point being caol is yes cheap, but cheapest not the best.
A friend of mine back in the early 2000's had a Honda Insight hybrid electric vehicle. Thing was touted as a great benefit to the environment due to its high mileage of 60-70 mpg. But once you got up to about 30,000 miles on the vehicle, the batteries, engine, computer controllers all had problems which required replacements which were expensive and surely took a high environmental toll. So was it wise to buy a 2000 Honda Insight hybrid? Yes for 70 mpg, no for not being green. Wikipedia says 17,000 were made, I'm fairly sure that 16,997 are now in landfills!
