Why should it be a problem if someone decides to be celibate? What if someone wanted to be a hermit or a monk. Not everyone wants to be a manager or an accountant, have 2.5 children, and live in a split-level home in the burbs.

He sounds like an outstanding person. The Church needs prophets.

Obi Won - I'm happy about that also, but what makes him a prophet?

Prophets have always been men and women who stand at the edge of society or culture, and draw us into a new understanding. They challenge peoples to transformation, as well as responsibility. Think about Isaiah or Jeremiah, but also Dorothy Day and Oscar Romero.

Father Caton could have allowed fear or anxiety keep him from being ordained, but pursued that desire instead.

The Church is going to ordain this married Priest. Priests are to be celibate but, the Church is making his case a special exception. According to the Catholic Religion Nuns are married to God, at,least, that is what I was taught. Gee, I wonder if they will make any special exceptions in that regard.
