Obama tells NAACP blacks must take responsibility

Democrat Barack Obama received a prideful welcome from the annual NAACP convention Monday night, but in a stirring speech to the nation's oldest civil rights organization, he nonetheless insisted blacks must show greater responsibility for improving their own lives.

Well, I know one thing... if I want to improve my life... I can expect no help at all from the government. On the contrary, if I try to start a business, I might expect some red tape... along with some extra taxes and reporting requirements. No "help" at all.

Funny he advocates more responsibility but his plans for government will take responsibility away from Americans and freedom with it.

I'm just happy I was able to post before "Yes We Can" got in here with his usual spam.

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots.

A President who chose the moon as our new frontier.

And a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can….Yes we can…. Yes we can… Yes we can.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can… Yes we can… Yes we can… Yes we can…

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We want change…. We want change…We want change…

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant ..........

We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about….

Hope…

We want change… We want change… We want change….

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America.

That we are not as divided as our politics suggests;

That we are one people.

We are one nation.

And together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast.

From sea to shining sea --

Yes~! We~! Can~!…Yes~! We~! Can~!…Yes~! We~! Can~!…Yes~! We~! Can~!…

If you follow Obama's speeches carefully, he admonishes Blacks to try harder...to succeed! With the growth of the Black race, it will diminish the White race.

Whitie is too dumb to be able to see what's happening! And this is the beginning of a Black revolution and takeover of the United States of America. Yes, Barack has hidden agenda. He's had this all along, but didn't tell people. Listen to his early speeches!

It is NOT geared to helping America and poor Whites. It specifically is geared towards the Black community!

America has been deceived!

By the way. With Obama's family in the White House, everything will change, due to Obama being BLACK! Yes, the race of a candidate does matter!

And Obama is Muslim!

I'm not going to waste my time here. I've given you examples and sources before and I can't reverse the brainwashing you've been through. Sorry, your terminally dedicated to his flawed "solution". So go back to your spamming. How many breaks do you guys get at the Obama center or is it several people logged in under this sign-on?

You have never given me an example, or been able to back up any of your hot air slurs and statements. Like most of the conservatives on this site, trying to communicate with you is like talking to a spam generator programmed to spew insults and lies.

You have no idea what Obama's plans are and are no more capable of rational thought and discussion that a stop sign. I will contradict your lies, but have no more discussion with you.

"...he also received his most lusty applause as he urged blacks to demand more of themselves.

"If we're serious about reclaiming that dream, we have to do more in our own lives. There's nothing wrong with saying that," Obama told a crowd estimated at 3,000. "But with providing the guidance our children need, turning off the TV set and putting away the video games; attending those parent-teacher conferences, helping our children with their homework, setting a good example. That's what everybody's got to do."

He added: "I know some say I've been too tough on folks talking about responsibility. NAACP, I'm here to report, I'm not going to stop talking about it. Because as much I'm out there to fight to make sure that government's doing its job and the marketplace is doing its job,... none of it will make a difference _ at least not enough of a difference _ if we also don't at the same time seize more responsibility in our own lives. When we are taking care of our own stuff, then a lot of other folks are going to be interested in joining up and working with us and taking care of America's stuff. We can lead by example, as we did in the civil rights movement. Because the problems that plague our community are not unique to us. We just have them a little worse, but they're not unique to us."

For Info, I am white

Does it occur to anyone white that perhaps the blacks know this , and do not need some half white rich boy TELLING them what to do? They already feel like the white people are frustrating their efforts, does Obama think he is gaining any votes for saying what everyone already knows?

I am sure no one knows better then plights and responsibility of life without some millionaire college brat imitating a white voice and reverberating with the rednecks!

I agree with Jackson on this one (NEVER thought I would say that.)

He is putting down a whole race to gain a few white votes. Disgusting.

You flag-waving yahoos talk about McCain's vast experience but McCain got the biggest vote of his career wrong -- the war.

He also got the second biggest vote of his career wrong -- immigration.

The bottom line is this: McCain gets things wrong --consistently -- and the reason he gets things wrong is because he isn't very bright.

A Spanish psychiatrist who interviewed McCain when he was a POW tells us the second reason he gets things wrong: "McCain is an insensitive man who has no depth," which is to say McCain is incapable of a certain level of cognition -- compassion for others.

And again, we saw this with his Amnesty bill and treatment of the MIA families. In both cases he understood his job to be representing his old pilot pals in big business, not the little man.

You see, when you're born into privilege from early on you are made to understand your first allegiance is to your class-- NOT YOUR COUNTRY!

You go through life meeting other people born to privilege. You meet them at Annapolis, in Naval Flight School, and in McCain's case, the Hanoi Hilton.

McCain traded special treatment for military information not because he's a coward, but because he thought he deserved privileged treatment and swapping military information was the only way he could get it.

You know McCain broke the rules at Annapolis which is a form of treason itself, yet you deny he'd have done the same thing as a POW.

The main idea behind privilege is the the same idea behind Royalty -- you deserve better than anyone else. In 17th and 16th century Europe, for example, Kings and Queens would routinely start wars were tens of thousands of their subjects were butchered over the most miscellaneous BS.

Privilege.

McCain married a girl of privilege -- the richest heiress in Arizona -- after which he joined the most privileged class of all, the U.S. Senate.

And you think you have something in common with this guy? You think he has your back...?

You only think you have more in common with McCain is your pink skin. Had Obama, a black man, been on the MIA Senate Select Committee he never would have treated the MIA families like white trash the way McCain did.

Obama would have treated you with the dignity you deserve ... which in your case is none.

In the clip below you see McCain screaming at the MIA families and you say to yourself, "Oh, that's the McCain temper, he tells it like it is."

But that's not what he's doing. What he's doing is letting people he considers beneath him know they have no right to question what members of his class do.

Here's that MIA tape again. Is the MIA woman disrespectful? Is she irrational? If not, why does McCain going ballistic on her? And don't miss how McCain does something he always does when ripping into someone not in his class -- he starts dropping names of others in HIS class.

http://www.youtube.com/watch ...

In this second video you see common people like you and I talking about the clip. They're aghast at how McCain attacked the MIA people. They don't understand, but what McCain was doing is plan enough -- he was putting the MIA people "in their place."

http://www.youtube.com/watch ...

To sum up, you flag-waving yahoos miss a salient point about McCain -- he's not a flag-waving yahoo like you.

He's not part of your group.

He would never allow someone of your class come to his parties.

You really have nothing in common with him.

He's just pretending he's a flag-waving yahoo to get the white trash vote after which he's going to give it to you straight up your pink fatted asses.

Look forward to this.

And you think Obama is going to send you an invite to his White House digs? NOT! He is not a ditch digger either. They are both Class driven fools who would crush you OR I.

The only way to untie a people is give them a common enemy. We might just get one soon.

Those who have pride in themselves are able to take constructive criticism, but those who are weak, pathetic, and victims to low self esteem cannot.

If you are pleased with yourself, and have done your best, you would not even read this. But those who like to hide behind their failures will always scream the loudest! Obama asked that you fine tune yourself and if there is anything that you can improve step up to the plate and do it! Those who won't or can't you know who you are just keep talking the nonsense that you are noted for and your contribution for betterment, which is NOTHING!!!

Let's see...Obama pandered to his black audience in a different manner than he pandered to an uppity San Francisco audience. During one speech he acts as if he's wearing a ball cap backwards and in another speech he’s on an uppity professor’s platform looking down on those Americans in small towns clinging to their guns and Bibles.
It sickens me to see people get scammed while sitting in front of a fraud absorbing his sugarcoated poop all while he's making the audience think they are geniuses. Obama is scripted and he will say or do anything to get elected. I think people know it but they want to avoid being disappointed thus they avoid being objective.
Obama will throw whoever he has to under the bus to advance the cause. A cause funded primarily by uppity euro-socialist contributors.
Once again, the black community is allowing a fraud to lead them just because he looks like them. What happened to content of character? Apparently it's nowhere to be found...None in Obama, his allegiance is to his socialist contributors. And, none in those who do not have what it takes to avoid an Obamanation...pathetic.

Yes, typical politician.

Say one thing and do or propose (since Obama's done nothing) another.
