This piece is a good introduction to the Debs legacy, which Terre Haute citizens should be proud of.

Too bad the only local folks interviewed were clueless ISU students. Their quotes are an embarrassment.

I sure can.

I can also say uninformed, small-minded dumbass with no sense of history. That would be you, not Gene Debs.

Read the article. It's very likely that you have personally benefitted from the work Debs did a hundred years ago.

We need tho get back to a real workday. Get rid of soc sec, medicare, workmans comp, unemployment ins and all the other things that have been sapping the strength of the American working class. Ayn Rand is my heroine. Paul Ryan.

He was convicted under the Espionage Act of 1917 and sentenced to a term of 10 years. President Warren G. Harding commuted his sentence in December 1921. Debs died in 1926 not long after being admitted to a sanatorium.

Man you better quit smoking all that crack!

The draft didn't turn out well did it, as if he started it, or single-highhandedly started the whole union movement. Crazy.

He was a communist. Yet things back then like socialism or being Democrat was a far cry from what they are today believing in big government and all the lazy bums and illegals living off of our tax dollars or trying to implode this land and the social fabric.
The majority of Jews, Blacks, Hispanics and other foreigners all vote so-called... Demoncrat, or should we say fascist liberal socialist or communist Democrat which this town is full of. Unions here just love Debs and support far left fascist policies.

He was also promoted and given high status for the propaganda of the day and of him being a Jew. You know they always have to promote on of their own to glory status and for doing something world changing that we all just couldn't live without. Organized labor started long before him and his chosen-ness. At least he did stand against wars but that too didn't do any good because his fellow chosen masters of the world demanded war, along with the right-wing corporate profiteers.

Taurus

If you're a typical Taurean you enjoy a steady routine, but this is one of those days when you really benefit from living in a more spontaneous way. So forget about your usual schedule and try to ring the changes. Even some small departures from your usual routine will make a big difference to your mood, so don't imagine that it has to be all or nothing.
