I'd like to know why the government is still trying to whip us all into a frenzy about swine flu. Is it a bioweapon that the government knows will mutate a certain way at a certain time? Or, rather, does the government think that people will go out and buy groceries and such, and stock their homes well, just on the off chance that an extended quarantine will be put in place during a large outbreak- therefore, stimulating the economy?

I'm way more afraid of plague from China than I am of swine flu.

This is worrying because it is easily transmitted and has the potential to kill within 24 hours if not treated immediately. Small wonder they have quarantined the whole town.

However, the differences with swine flu is that it is not overhyped and, because it is bacterial rather than viral in origin, can be effectively treated with antibiotics.

If it was in britain, parliament would have had a debate before the town was quarantined.

After reading this i've just called the travel agent and i've cancelled my trip to China. Swine flu is tame compared to this plague. If it is an air borne disease quarantining the affected area will not slow down the spead. I hope the British government wise up and stop travel from and to China for the time being.

My ancestors were born here, I was born here, it's a beautiful country, just because I don't like the government doesn't mean I hate britain and why I would 'go back' to China since I am welsh and I'm not from china, maybe you being such an idiot should keep your big fat mouth shut, moron.

Plague, Swine Flu, and now a woman identified having an entirely new strain of HIV in Cameroon, Africa...
New diseases (and old ones) seem to be more viraluent (sp?) and deadly. I wonder how we could contain a Pandemic with air travel among Continents?
Scary Stuff.

Air travel by aircraft isn't the only way for some diseases to spread. Imagine some birds carrying a deadly disease all over the world.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Libra

Is a relationship getting dull and predictable? If so, it's time to inject some spontaneity into it, preferably by doing things on the spur of the moment and taking a few risks. Maybe you should go out for a meal for a change. There could also be a surprise in store when you realize you're attracted to someone who's totally different from your usual type.
