Past bus hijackings in China have been carried out by people with mental or emotional problems or those bearing personal grudges.

Chinese police tactical teams have trained specially for such scenarios, especially in the wake of the deaths of eight Hong Kong hostages in a botched police rescue in the Philippines last year that drew widespread condemnation across China.

These teams know how to subdue a hijacker.

Great Satan has the largest prison population in the world. Bar none! More prisoners than China and India combined!

AMERICA HAS WORLD’S LARGEST PRISON POPULATION

America has more men in prison than any other nation; more than China and India combined and they have more than two billion residents among them. One man in six between the ages of 18 and 30 has a relationship with the law. In the African-American community one man in three in that age groups has a relationship with the law, with the trends worsening.

In 1976 the prison population numbered 250,000, a high figure by world standards. Eight years later in 1984 it had doubled to a half million, by 1992 it had doubled again to one million, and by 2000 it had doubled to two million. It now stands at 2.4 million and growing.

A society that locks up large numbers of its men in prison and has them spend what should be the formative or productive years of their life rotting away in cages, has an oppressive government. Yet, this issue never receives recognition let alone discussion from any political party or member of government at any level, nor even from the supposedly watch dog media. Because of that deliberate oversight I am addressing the issue here and on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch... . Those 2.4 million men in prison are someone’s sons, brothers or fathers. That’s a major issue.

Perhaps, the U S should outsource some of its prison system to China on a trial basis.

Since China has a unique and successful prison system a study of how they operate may be beneficial. It also would reduce overcrowding at U S prisons.

Why are female prisoners not included are they not also locked up during their formative and productive years?

The U S might learn a great deal from the Chinese criminal justice system.

From what I understand, the reason it is not recognized, in our political circles, is because appearing to be soft on crime is political suicide, and the prison industry is big business.

We are not free, we only live under the illusion of freedom.

So, set the criminals free? Turn the killers loose? Close the prisons and jails?

Let's have no laws then, we have no crimes? Are you saying that all inmates are incarcerated for political reasons?

You are saying this crime was political?
The beating and strangulation of a 27-year-old man this week in Little Village with a crowbar was captured on surveillance video and on a witness' cell phone camera, prosecutors said in court today.

The dead man, Christopher Pinkins, was discovered in the 3000 block of South Pulaski Road at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after Chicago police received a call of a person with a knife in the area, authorities said.

Charged with first-degree murder were Osmar Alejo, 25, of the 3000 block of South Tripp Avenue, and Santiago Garcia, 46, of the 3000 block of South Harding Avenue.

Both defendants were ordered held in lieu of $900,000 bail in court this afternoon.

Assistant State's Atty. William Hall said told the court that Pinkins was walking down an alley between Harding Avenue and Pulaski Road when he was spotted by Alejo, who believed that Pinkins recently had robbed Garcia's garage.

Alejo alerted Garcia, who got in his truck and started following Pinkins while Alejo followed him on foot, the prosecutor said.

At some point Alejo got in the truck, and both men caught up with Pinkins in the 3000 block of Pulaski, where Alejo got out and started hitting Pinkins with a crowbar, according to Hall. Both Alejo and Garcia got on top of Pinkins and were seen pressing the crowbar on his neck, the prosecutor said. The witnesses called police.

Kinda like a reeducation retreat? A camp of sorts where people can go for retraining?

How does one organize such a camp?
